How many points will be needed to win the league?

5 pts away, and Liverpool-Arsenal have yet to play between them. If they draw, then the title is in our hands.

We will have to get a draw at Anfield, which is not an easy task for us. We will beat Arsenal at the Etihad, I have zero doubts about that, so even with a rough patch, we are really there. And we have the psychological advantage of having won 2 titles from behind. The moment we get a sort of run, both Liverpool and Arsenal will feel it (and again they just have to draw one and the title is in our hands).

Never said it wasn't possible, just the opposite in fact. I said the title race doesn't start in March coz it doesn't. Recently if we are in it towards the end of the season we get there

Relying on the is obviously fuckwittery it really is better to win as many games as possible right from the start.

Anyhow this season we have been pretty poor so can we all agree we need that to stop pretty please.

I know. I was expanding on your comment, not arguing it

were fortunate to find ourselves only 5pts adrift with the leading team to come to the etihad, our two main rivals have to play each other twice yet so there are points to be droped there, come january we could be looking at a fully fit squad with the option to bring one or two in, i have no doubt no doubt whatsoever we will be up there defending our title and Pep will turn this around

We are in a nice chasing position and 5 pts is nowt
at this point.

Surely we have to stabilize our defence, Erling has to get fully fit and if we're lucky Kev could be a positive surprise (I don't expect much from him though).

Let's see if the top 3 are good enough over a long season. Our experience over the years might be helpful to get it over the line somehow.

Only 5 pts off it and we have been dogshit for some time, IF we can step it up & go on a run, we can win this league but its a big IF at this stage

It's been a weird season, it feels like we've been playing shit but then you look at the table and it paints a different picture (points wise) have all the top teams dropped off a bit this season? Have some of the 'mid-table' sides got a lot better? Can't put my finger on it

Can someone ban this doom merchant.....
Get a grip lol, some folk don't like hearing other folks opinion wether it be right or wrong. I suppose you may just want positive posts but that'll then make the whole point of this forum pointless. You'll get a positive post on here from me when we do something positive which in the recent past we have but the very recent past we haven't ie the last 5-6 games in the league, I'm allowed to criticise our current performances. If you can't handle the critism that isn't my issue.

I was only joking mate, sorry

It's a midfield thing with us. Stones and Rodri have only played together once this season - our best performance of the season at Old Trafford. When Rodri and Kovacic start together, we've won every game. I think we'll revert to this more in the second half of the season but we're making extra sure that injury-hit Kovacic and Stones are managed carefully at present.

We struggle to see games out without Kev. He is the calming influence in midfield and loves playing those killer passes to hit teams on the break in the final stages. Palace ends up 4-0 with him in the team.
