Grealish house raid

I'd like to think you're right but...

That isn't true at all, the local plod couldn't care less about assault let alone burglary. Jacks house is marked for a higher degree in protection, whether or not that's because of a larger insurance claim we will never know.

Woman across the road from me got pretty much cleaned out, alarm bells going like the clappers and the sleuths in the dept gave her a police crime number.
I could agree with you but then we would both be wrong :)
When the woman neighbour got burgled there could be any number or other incidents/factors going on in the force that are more serious hence lack of response
It’s all about available and best use of resources
The initial response to a small burglary and something like this will be similar
Granted however the subsequent investigation will be more thorough and done by the CID or a burglary squad as opposed to a uniform officer although the investigative techniques will be similar
Things like costly DNA comparisons or other forensic work may not be done for smaller less valuable burglaries
Because it’s an high profile offence which will attract media attention (critical incident) not because of the insurance claim (that is of no interest to the police whatsoever )
It is obviously an high value crime and will therefore attract a decent custodial sentence for the suspects if captured and convicted
therefore worthy of a more thorough investigation
Do you really believe the police don’t want to catch burglars - come on

It's not a question of the police not ' wanting ' to catch them...more the effort and resources spent and then proving and sentencing..if any.

I actually happen to know exactly where this house is as the parents of a girl I’ve known since I was 16 (who also speaks highly of him) live down the road - and given its location it was no mean feat to deploy large numbers of officers and vehicles quickly. I can’t imagine they came from Knutsford nick!

Where were you between the hours of 5-10pm on the night of Wednesday 27th December?

Finally found this thread again (not sure why it’s in “off topic”).

Anyway I ended up posting in JG’s performance thread but essentially Pep handing the Scum an open goal with this headline was nothing short of stupid.

Manager effectively blames own player for break in.

Pep can be legendary in his pressers but his comments about social media were way off the mark and utterly irrelevant to the burglaries City players have been subject to. I don’t think Jack would have been too happy about it and rightly so.

He’s kind of right though. If you broadcast you’re off to Greece for 2 weeks, it can be read by ne’er-do-wells who could take advantage, especially if you are a brand ambassador of Gucci.

But it’s completely irrelevant.

When did Jack post on his socials he’d just moved into his house?

When did he post on his socials where his house is?

When did he post on his socials all his belongings?

When did he post on his socials where his family were on Wednesday night?

He’s done none of those things. His use of social media (which is pretty infrequent) has fuck all to do with the fact his house was broken into. It’s just a fact.

You’re making a mountain out of a mole hill

Whilst all may be true, I’m sure they’re all warned about the pitfalls of posting on social media.

Not looking for an argument, but it wasn’t all his belongings they went after. Just very high end watches and jewellery - and this article appears to have been written based solely on social media pics posted by Grealish: https://iflwatches.com/blogs/celebrities/football-player-jack-grealish-watch-collection

The watches mentioned at the link above alone are worth £400-500k (although given they’re stolen and on some kind of register now, I doubt they’d actually fetch that). I assume he has more than what’s listed in that article too. All you’ve got to do then is work out where he lives, then jackpot?

A lot of gangs go after really high end watches - Mahrez had a load stolen, Frank Lampard has been targeted multiple times and had a load of Pateks stolen. Sterling and Delle Ali have had significant watch collections stolen too. Watches and jewellery are small, light and easy to spirit out of the country. Which is why they’re targeted like this. I read somewhere about gangs flying in from South America to carry out these thefts then flying straight back out, but I’m struggling to find the source now (although Vanity Fair has a similar article except the break ins are in the USA.)

You don’t have to look too far into Grealish’s socials to see he has a significant watch collection knocking around his gaff (he’s not the only one, Jesse Lingard and others have pretty nice collections too.)

I think it’s happening more and more nowadays as brands like Patek, Richard Mille and Rolex are increasingly trendy. And watches are a lot easier to steal and conceal than say… a Ferrari, or other high ticket items a footballer might buy.

Fwiw, if I was on £100k+ a week I’d be hiring one or two full time security guards to look after my family, my house and my stuff. Shouldn’t have to be that way, but here we are!

Maybe some players need to take a leaf out of Rodri's life style.

There was a rumour thieves were planning on raiding his gaff.
They backed out when they realised the the petrol needed to run the getaway car would cost more than they would get!
