Mr Bates vs the Post Office

I see Mr Bates got his offer of “full and fair compensation” from the Post Office today
1/6th of what was asked for
He refused it - stating it to be "cruel” and “derisory”.
No surprise.

On a brighter note… Richard Branson is jetting him off to Necker Island for a holiday.
Deserves a knighthood and to be in the House of Lords - but instead we have Liz Truss' bloody Special Advisers in there!

No chance he gets the recognition/honours/compensation he deserves from this mealy mouthed two faced bunch of spivs. They will happily spaff hundreds of millions on Rwanda or PPE to their mates but when it comes to compensating people who have suffered at the hands of the organisation they have created they go back to scrimping and saving.

If only the sub-postmasters had given their remaining assets as donations to the Tory Party instead of trying to feed themselves and their kids they would have been sorted for life by now.

Hi Richard

Today the inquiry is hearing Oral Closing Statements on behalf of Core Participants to the Inquiry, well worth a watch if you would like a summary have what went wrong.

This will be a familiar story I fear

I heard an interview on the radio with Lee Castleton last night - he hasn't even bothered submitting his claims the 1/6th figure is he claimed being applied across the board and those making the decisions are implicated in the scandal anyway and he said - rightly in my view - this needs to be put into independent hands to make the decisions on payments

The Post Office began in 1660 and worked fine - privatised in 2015 - ruined as a service by 2023 - wonder what caused that then?
Pretty sure your confusing Royal Mail with POL, especially since you referred to it as a "service" which is a more appropriate description of the mail service?
