As usual the posters who have never taken to him are making a mountain out of a molehill.
If his head has not been right since the break in and he’s had an illness then it makes perfect sense to keep him on the bench, even more so now we have a full and firing squad to choose from.
As long as he’s good to go in the final stretch when the big games come thick and fast then we are cooking go with gas.

Pep's head doesn't seem to have been right since Jack's break in.
But - we're entering the baldy genius phase of the season.

Nothing suggests these.

As multiple journo reported, a common flu/cold like bug went around the squad in January before the winter break. It kept Bernado out of squad for only one match. But Grealish only got 13 minutes pitch time ever since.

Training photos clearly showed Grealish back in full speed training long ago.

Pep does not want to pick Grealish for whatever reason. Pep has every right to do so.

He is simply no longer in Pep's plan any more.

Your last sentence is why nobody should bother their arses replying to you.

Your conclusion is quite OTT, a wild speculation at this stage.

But yeah, Jack certainly isn't developing the way Pep and the club has been hoping for. What quality does Jack offer in this (even growing) strong competition within our squad?
Well, except for control, physicality and defensive work (when he's in good form) not so much at going forward as most others.

Picking Bobb at spurs for his quality "in tight spaces" over Jack should be red alert for Jack. Doku offers pace and aggressive rushes without too much outcome while Phil and Julian do score. Jack at least has to hold dominance in his good areas, or Pep won't have much reason to pick him other than for rotation when the big matches arrive.

Jack simply has to show he wants to start and can right stop sulking or he hasn't understood how City and Pep work. (Please no further Cancelo/Phillips story and endless loans...)

It's quite a jump to get from a player not playing that many games over the past month or so to them no longer being part of Pep's plan.

Jack has a very valuable skill set and offers a lot of control and ability to keep the ball. When the game comes against a team that we need a certain level of discipline out on the left, the first person he will turn to is likely Grealish.

Look how often Pep used him in important big games last season when you needed a lot of discipline and control.

I've no doubt Jack will play his part between now and the end of the season.

Eh?

thought it was strange that doku got the nod over him when we are 3:1 up in an away game where we should simply keep the ball and let the clock run down.

did I miss something? don't want to stir the pot, genuine question.
I think Pep saw that they were open on the wings and the game was stretched at that point so Doku keeping them on the back foot was the sensible substitution. He gave them plenty to think about.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if the break-in has been troubling him. I know it would me.

And even if his illness was only a cold/flu, different people have those conditions at different severities and just because one person recovers quickly it doesn't mean everyone else would. If I remember rightly, Jack had another illness earlier in the season too, so the repeat minor illnesses might have him a bit run-down and even if he's feeling better, perhaps his endurance isn't back up to speed yet.

I don't know what Pep's plans are but I trust him to pick his teams to give us the best chance of winning. I'd love to see Jack back on the pitch and in form because I really rate him as a player, but Pep and the club know far more about his health, fitness, emotional state, performances in training etc. than we do.

You were doing ok (albeit very negative again) UNTIL your last sentence - then I made a note to ignore you as you don’t know what you’re talking about.

anyone who comes on here thinking they know what’s in Pep’s plans, needs help :)

Don’t think he would kick a ball again for Guradiola if he’d stormed out of training early , plenty of games coming up for him to play in . Hopefully he can repeat his form from last season .
