I thought Jack was negative when he came on yesterday but, I’d guess Pep had been in his ear saying keep the ball whatever you do, don’t give it away.

I agree Doku is a real threat but, horses for courses. Jack is ideal when we want controlled possession, which we needed at the end.

Jack came on in the 74th minute and made more tackles / interceptions than any other City player. Josko, who played the whole game amde the same number. So Jack certainly wasn't standing around doing nothing.

He definitely helped City see the game out and that was why Pep brought him on yesterday. He came on, did his job but all some people want to do is complain.

And to all the people saying he's not worth £100 million, I'll reiterate what I said about watching him play for England last week, the contrast between his technical ability and most of the other players was stark. He is one of the England players worth having at City. He also has a commercial value way above most players and that is why City shelled out £100m.

He's not the only City player that has not found their best form yet this season. He also may or may not need some time to get up to speed after his injury: player differ on that.

If he has a fight on his hands for game time due to Doku's arrival and Phil's form, that's great. Competition for places is good and we need players who rise to that challenge.

I think Pep has defintely influenced changes in Jack's game. Jack plays in a controlled, disciplined way that has to be down to Pep.

If Pep wants him to take more risks, I'm sure he will impress that on Jack.

Players are different. Some take more time to get back into rhythm than others.

Sergio always took a couple of games to get back up to speed.
