Kalvin Phillips interview in the Sunday papers

Nice lad and good player. Hung out to dry by Pep, but clearly couldn't operate as the player Pep hoped.

Anyone slagging him, the lad has achieved more in his short career than any of you will in a lifetime. Hope he goes on and has a successful club and country career elsewhere. He didn't down tools or show bad attitude, it just didn't work out.
Certainly true in my case but it’d be a pretty quiet and dull forum if only those who had reached the top 1 percent in their chosen field were allowed to call out underachieving poorly focused freeloading when they see it.

What's a nice lad got to do with anything, I wish he was an utter bastard and was ripping it up in our shirt alongside Rodri.

It wasnt just printed in the sun and it was him giving an interview , have you read it ?
Any sensible player would simply keep their head down and give everything to West Ham during his loan, if only to secure a good move in the summer.

To make an interview criticizing your parent club after two seasons of utter mediocrity is crass in the extreme and will do him no favours with us, but any potential suitors in the summer.

He has a huge few weeks coming up to save his top flight career.
