PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

When I was in the army, I once worked for a rag who was the Yeoman of Signals of our unit, so we dealt with sensitive and classified stuff. He stupidly asked me to password protect some classified files, so of course, I used “CITYTILIDIE” CITYFORTHECUP” and others. He was less than impressed, especially as he couldn’t change them as I had set them, with only me having permission to change them!!
Thanks for that. I've just sold that information to the Russians and plan to by a villa in the sun

But what if

A) said new striker turns out to be shit and hardly score

B) said striker gets injured after 2 games and doesn’t feature again

C) said striker gets a few red cards and misses loads of games through suspension

It’s not as simple as a+b=c.
Yes there is that risk and perhaps in that scenario they would not have got a competive advantage and would have decided to take the risk of breaching psr but gained no advantage from their decision.

How can any club have a competitive advantage when there's teams in the league that spend more than them.

If Everton have a competitive advantage, so does City, Liverpool, rags, Arsenal etc.

Teams with a competitive advantage have been a thing for over a century.
Totally agree with this. Was just explaining why they call it competitive advantage by breaching the rules in place over those that don't. Only way football will ever be fair is if all have the same amount to spend and that will never happen sadly.

Here is another thought. If a club has to sell players in a hurry to meet FFP, isn't the buying club getting a sporting advantage by getting a player on the cheap, dare I say for less than fair market value? And they are clearly associated through their business connection in the PL. For that matter, every single transfer between PL clubs should be reviewed and adjusted to fair market value. Oh, what a tangled web the PL is weaving ...... :)
If a club has to sell players quickly to meet ffp they must have not looked after their finances too well. Complying with psr is totally within the control of the owners (hence why man utd and chelsea sound like they are in the shit)

Looks like Villa could be sailing close to the wind. Here’s Stefan’s take:

This is not right. The amount of clubs who challenge is getting smaller and smaller.
The pl is destroying itself to save 3 red top +spuds.

Fans dream of their club being successful and it's being taken away from them. Not by results on the pitch but by accountants.

Also the selling club will be in a weaker position to push for a good price as the buying clubs knows they have to sell. The whole think stinks.

Are City the only club that welcome competition ?

We can't have Villa competing for top four again just what the red shirts wanted PSR for now they'll have to sell can't spend big this summer either!
this is exactly how utd managed to stay at the top for so long, they push teams to the edge financially and then cherry pick their best players when the clubs have to sell so their challenge to utd fades away

It’s also the Bayern way. Apart from a one-off turn up this season it’s made that into pretty much a one team league

Well it ain’t working for the rags now, they will have to have a big clear out in the summer before they can spend. Living on the never, never with extended business loans and the interest rates creeping up is killing them. If they don’t get champions league football it will make life even more difficult for them. Lovely stuff.

Fuck them all - they voted for this shit in a fit of jealousy. Let them suffer the consequences.

Assuming we get that far, whichever member of the hateful 8 finishes fifth in the league will be praying for a City victory in the champions league (unless we are playing Arsenal).

Which appeals to my sense of the ironic, if nothing else.

If only life were that simple .... many things can happen that make assumptions invalid that were valid just a few months earlier.

And don't forget you can have a club that manages its finances perfectly well but struggles with the false construct that is FFP for a particular rolling period. On the bright side, the whole thing is about to come crashing down (before it affects United, of course). What we need now is for UEFA to start issuing Champions League sanctions for failing their FFS. That would put the cat amongst the pigeons :)
