Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

Fuck me, if Dizzy Dermot says it was a penalty then it most definitely wasn’t, absolutely atrocious referee in his day but it makes you realise what a bizarre world he lives in given some of his decisions back then.

So dopey Dermott thinks Liverpool should have had a penalty for Doku's challenge because it would have been easier to give and we'd be talking about it less. You really cannot make it up. Of all the logic to apply for giving a penalty I never saw that coming.
He's a complete pillock and comes out with some right shite, week in week out. Not a pen for me.

It’s a foul…..if it’s ‘careless, reckless or using excessive force’. Tbh I looked up the ‘laws’ of the game such is the way games are reffed nowadays.

So being as objective as possible, Doku was of course careless raising his foot that high. What’s the word I’m looking for? Fucking DELICIOUS you scouse cunts.

Was a penalty but you were fucked over, get the fuck in! Haha

So many blues saying it was a penalty, I just don’t see it.

Doku was playing a high ball with his foot and MacAllister jumped into him, then threw himself to the floor when he was barely touched.

Typical dipper trying to game the officials, thankfully on this occasion they didn’t fall for it.
If it was the other way round and it wasn’t given, it would be out and out meltdown on here.

The replay in real time I said it wasn’t a pen. Doku gets the ball and then it’s a coming together. The high foot is redundant as he literally gets the ball.

For me, if anything, it shows that if the officials wanted to gift Liverpool the penalty, and ultimately propel them to first, they could’ve given it and then it’s up to fans of both sides to have their view on it. They didn’t though, they used absolute common sense.

Not sure if it's a pen or not, I think not, but I can understand some disagreeing.

The biggest credit though I can give Michael Oliver, is that he always refs this way and only gives penalties in big games if he's 100% sure.

This is something I've complained about before as I've felt is gone against us on a lot of occasions, but yesterday he did exactly the same thing and it went in our favour.

That's what we want from refs isn't it, consistency?

Just 2008 mate :-)

He gave United one of the softest penalties ever last season in the 6-3, doubt very much if he’d have given it if the score had been 3-2 instead of 6-2. Conveniently massaging the stats?

One more thought on the 'penalty' decision at the end.

Salah hadn't been trying to con the ref by diving and appealing for a penalty every chance he got. Maybe that added a bit of doubt into the ref's mind, so they got what they deserved - nothing.
