England wasting one of the most talented squads ever assembled on Southgate

Southgate being a fanny and having no clue what to do with the more ‘flair’ players is nowt new.
Le tissier, for one example, would have had 100 caps if he was any other nationality. Think he got about 12

Do international managers do this? They fucking should

It makes a lot of sense. You get about 5 international breaks in a season if we don't include the euros and world cup. So in some years you're with your team 10 weeks a year in total.

You get 10 weeks practice/experience of coaching and 42 weeks of not. That's a hell of a lot of time to really not be doing your craft on a regular basis and improving.

It would really be beneficial to be spending weeks at a time with the top coaches in the world.
 
England has made a brand or a style of football over these years, and it's wasting the gold mine of attacking ability we have.

Can appreciate it's much harder to get a team to gel into a certain way of play at the International level, but Southgate and Holland have been there since 2016, and have been working together since 2013.

The players that all get together now will know the basics of what's expected of them in how they are going to set up and play. It's why I shoulder a decent whack of the blame for the in-game pacifist approach that's cost us every single time it's mattered on Steve Holland. He's earned his stripes and influences from Conte and Mourinho after all.

Fucking Sven and Capello used to batter teams regularly home or away. It's just a sad watch recently since the WC. Scotland 3-1 was alright, but thought we were shit for large spells against Italy and 3-1 flatters.

Last rounds of Australia(H) 1-0, Malta (H)o.g, Kane pen 2-0, Macedonia (A) 1-1 was by far the worst load of shite I've seen England play ever. Not that we were ever going to lose those games, or looked like losing, just frightening how bad we were in attack or even getting the ball into attack from the back. Ukraine away last season was the same.

Favorite for Euros my arse.

Aye it's a right shame we can't watch the great man regularly due to the lack of Dutch football on TV. I guess we will have to take these short opportunities to see him. Bit like getting glimpses of Pele in Internationals back in the 60's

I stopped watching England for a while when the manager (I don't remember who it was) continued to pick the old, washed up rags.
I'll be up in cottage country with patchy internet and no cable so won't be going out of my way to watch when I could be dangling my feet in the lake.
 
When the camera pans to both Southgate and Ten Bob, notice how they both wear the same deep thought look, like they are thinking on some other plane that we plebs could never comprehend?
The truth is neither have a clue what day of the week it is let alone what’s happening on the pitch. Head full of fucking magic both of em.
