Correct, Scums English players, have been going straight into the England squad/team, for decades. Someone once said that the FA were in with pisscan and putting his players in the national team raised the players value.

More like being in on it with the agents. Weren’t there rumours a while ago of one of the England managers (maybe Woy) mysteriously giving loads of debuts to players who had the same agent as him?

It’s not just the rags either. I can’t help but think that Gallagher and Palmer would be nowhere near the England squad if they played for any other mid table side than Chelsea. Half a decent season is all it’s taken, while plenty of players do well at other clubs for a few years before getting the call up.
