Had some family illness again this last few days so not up to speed with news, but do I see that.Xabi has rejected the cult? What did he say? Who is this giy whi is his replacement? ( aka rewrite the script- we didn't want Alonso back anyway'....)

What sane guy could replicate the lunatic?
Running up and down touchlines punching their chests all because of winning a corner.
It's not going to be an easy act to follow and anyone who would get embarrassed trying that just to appease a feral fanbase is going to turn them down.
There's probably only one who comes close in the "it's all about me stakes" and that's Jose 'Park the bus' Mourinho

Jose would be perfect. He hates them, they would start losing and he will be smiling in after match interviews.

They don’t seem to get managerial appointments right and have a long chequered history of it all the way from when Dalgiesh decided not to continue. Houllier won a few domestic cups and a Uefa cup, Benitez won the champions league but they’d had enough of him by the time they got rid. Neither put up a decent challenge in the league and spent a lot of money in doing so.

Replacing Klopp is going to be hard and if they get it wrong it’s back to where they were under Rodgers.

The media will report it as the dippers turned down Alonso despite his tearful pledge to manage them for free. They will say how he continuously phoned the club in order to offer his services for no payment whatsoever but they still said no.
As of today Alonso is being treated for manic depression because of this rebuff. He is quoted as saying: "I just wanted to be a part of those great European nights again, the atmosphere, the floodlights, to once again experience that sense of belonging, it's my spiritual home, you see?"

We've got the Trafford Ministry of Truth, now we have the Dippers very own version, the Ministry of Kloppaganda.

Alonso is in the same group as Bellingham and Mbappe, who are all having therapy for being turned down by Liverpool.

I understand all that, but I think you will find, in the end, it didn't mean enough to him.
