Arsenal (H) - Post Game Thread

People blaming haaland are looking in the wrong place and either cant see the issue or wont.

KDB is being shoehorned into the team at the expense of our most inform attacking player in foden - KDBis nowhere near the player he has been for starts and secondly this nullifies foden.
The other issue is Kovacic who bring s much needed balance to the team (esp with KDB on the pitch) BUT doesnt add the creative spark or goals of a gundo - Haaland is being asked to do the job off no service as our wide players are players who arent wingers (except when Doku is on the pitch) and our main supply line in KDB in the big games has run out of gas

Summer is looking very important - its time to take that decision on KDB I feel - Nunes was a panick buy after Paquetta fell through.

The real one for me is Wirtz however - but I dont think we will get him

Disappointing result and unfortunately I think we will come up short now. Both teams defended well and created very few decent chances. We are not quite clicking in attack and Kdb struggled today.

KDB struggled in any of the big games: Chelsea, United, Liverpool and Arsenal.

That's perfectly normal, given the long absence and his age too.

It's not too late for him to step up and help us finish the season strongly.

Whatever happened to supporting your players? Instead of criticising Haaland why not get behind him and trust he will deliver?

Not like fanbases looking for a scapegoat

I am sort of tending to agree with you re EH. I can't believe I am gonna say this but we really would have been better with Hotspur Harry - better all round player. And much as I detest the Dips they do seem to find productive front players- even Nunez.

We need to refresh something next season.
Absolutely agree, although it pains me to say

Dull performance, even duller opposition. Awful game. Are Arsenal actually thinking they will win every game and the dippers won’t? Very odd performance from them. Came for 0-0 and got one. Bit lacking in ambition for a side who want to win the title.
The only real effort they made at anything was to try and injure as many of ours as they could.
helpfully assisted in that plan by Taylor who seemed to have left his cards in his other shorts.

The Boys in Blue didn’t give in. They fought to the end. Thank you City, thank you lads, thank you fans. You did us proud but unfortunately without the end result needed but you were thwarted by the Southern dirty players.
However you showed ‘em our spirit. Especially the Southern Softies who played a dirty game. Please insert your own swear word there as I can hardly hold back!
Especially the biased stupid media types who don’t understand our philosophy.
Especially the Specsavers needing, disgraceful, disgusting, dishonourable, unprincipled officials who are still trying to grind us down. Indefensible crowd. Do they not know who we are yet?? WE ARE MANCHESTER CITY THE BEST TEAM IN THE LAND AND ALL THE WORLD. You foolish reprobates.

Well done City. We’re still the Champions. :-)

This doesn’t scream a title winning team. To make matters worse, even against team like Brentford or Crystal Palace we don’t swipe them away.
I remember two seasons back when every game against the last 14 teams was a 3-0 4-0 win

When you consider last season we beat Arsenal 4-1, Liverpool 4-1, Spurs 4-2, United 6-3, Brighton 3-1.

We’ve been so poor in the big games and ultimately it’ll cost us.

The common conception is tws cancelled each other out ,which is far from the truth ,one team wanted to win and the other team didnt want to lose, overall a poor game of football and evidence that we have dropped a level from last season. Surprised at the Goons are back line was not the strongest and yet they didnt make any effort to put us under pressure , the Goons fans will be ecstatic to avoid their annual Etihad defeat but they only proved that they are not capable of winning the league by coming to our place and taking our title from us.
Great result for the Dippers though , we need them to resort to type and f*ck up when it matters and we now need to win the last nine games there is no margin for error.

So you agree last year was a freak year without the false 9 :-) and this year we just fucked up ;-)
We're still a pretty good team.

No I don't, you're a great team either way in both seasons. Halaand is a great traditional striker, but I think Pep adjusted his tactics, which ideally for him he would not do.

The press from your side was unbelievable today. We're a reasonably press resistant side and we couldn't react to your press.

I can’t believe the outrage at Arsenal turning up and not trying to win the game, employing the dark arts etc. It’s a results business, I dare say Arteta doesn’t give a fuck about the entertainment levels when he’s come away with a point

Anthony Taylor actually did us a favour by not getting his yellow card out …it was about the only thing that got the crowd going.

If they tried to go toe to toe with us I would nt have fancied their chances (although today who knows given the number of players who were off it!)

Still plenty of football to be played but on todays showing I’m not confident.

I am sure Bayern supporters would agree with you.

That season, we needed 2 favours from other sides, and then we could do the job at the Etihad which we did. This season, we need 3 favours from the other sides (2 against Liverpool and 1 against Arsenal) to go top. Drop any more points and then it's better to prioritize the CL and the FA Cup more than the League.
Everyone will drop points

A point wasn’t good enough for them though.

Fortunately you lot are winning fuck all this season. Played like fucking Burnley. Right fucking cheek comparing strikers when you lot field one of our cast offs who couldn’t score in a brothel. Do one back under your rock.

It's nice to meet you too, good sir
