Just wanted to say that the VAR offside decision to disallow the Coventry winner in the last minute of added time in the second half of extra time against United is one of the reasons people dislike VAR.

The player was—at best—offside by an inch (perhaps not even that, depending on whether the correct frame was used to determine the reference point).

That is not the intent of the offside rule and the continual inch-off decisions, even when they benefit City, detract from the enjoyment of the game.

Yeah I agree.
I was all for VAR initially but as you say it sucks the enjoyment out of the game particularly the celebration of goals.
You could simplify it by restricting it's scope ( I.e. leave handball decisions and fouls in the build up to the officials on the field) and relax the offside rule so that it applies only when all of the attacker body is past the last defender. But none of that will happen.
So unfortunately I think we're stuck with it.
