I think we need a proper statement signing in midfield or attack in summer, as close as possible to the calibre of Bellingham or Rice. If we’d done that last summer we’d have the title wrapped up by now and probably be in the CL semi again.

Whatever happens this season, if we can get whoever the best available is in the right position we’ll win the lot again next season, with Klopp gone and Arses will be spent after their efforts this year, we’d piss it. But only if we don’t stay complacent with average unambitious sinnings. Need to blow our rivals away in transfers.

yeah, his injury record is not great. it started with playing the whole season, the euros and then the olympics without a break.

this season it happened when he played for spain, several spanish players got injured during that game. then he was subbed on while coming back from the injury and was very unlucky, clavicle surgery after a challenge as soon as he stepped on the pitch.

Probably from the same show as well, but was interested to hear Pep apparently wants 3-5-2 next year with Yan Couto at wing-back.

I can see it personally.

His crosses have been ridiculous for Girona this season and is one of the highest assisting right backs in Europe. It will give Haaland another dimension.

If he doesn't sign a new contract, the rumours are Real Madrid want to replace Carvahal with him.

Plus, he is our player. More transfer kitty to go elsewhere.

and where do grealish, bobb, doku all fit in a 3-5-2? the rest of the players are why i dont see it over Couto. He's alright buy i wouldnt change formation just to fit him in.

That's a really good spot fella, maybe someone from the academy could go in the opposite direction on loan, so no fee at all. It would really depend on how much game time Barkley wants, he may be happy to stay as Luton's main man, as oppose to a squady for us.

Anything along these lines is preferable to the £100m !!! spent on Nunes and Philips. Thankfully Gvardiol looks like a diamond and Doku potentially could go up a couple of levels and be a Cat A starter. We have to do even more due diligence on these £50M plus transfers, I know other clubs have wasted tons and its not easy but this next window Txiki has got to get it right....

Barkley is a rag type signing. Ageing player going cheap. He could replace Eriksen…
