I genuinely don’t know who to vote for. Most reasonable people seem to dislike the Tories, but I have to admit I worry that a Labour Govt will be bad for my finances. I live on investment income, having retired in my 40s, I don’t want to be paying even bigger tax bills.

But there are many things I think the Tories have got wrong; poor response to climate change and green issues, their Covid response, Brexit, terrible support for science and universities. They’ve been shite for defence too, with such tiny armed forces now with seemingly no desire to build them up despite the utter shit from Russia.

I don’t really want another four years of those lying, incompetent arses running the country, but I don’t want to be taxed to hell either. I worry that Labour aren’t the best party if you’re reasonably wealthy.

Maybe I vote Green or Lib Dem.

I think that’s fair - but I really don’t think radical tax reform is on the cards for Labour at least not in this Parliament. They’re quite paranoid about being slapped with the “party of high taxes” label. I think at worst you might see some reduction of allowances, or tweaks in brackets at the very top end of the scale. I’m in the additional tax bracket and racing to be in a similar position to yourself soon as my health is slowly deteriorating… but I’m not too worried. I think it’s a privileged position to be in and so if it costs a little bit more to get the country working properly again then I’m more than happy to see that as part of my social duty. I’ve taken a lot out of the system to get where I am, so good to put some back in. I will just vote for whatever gets rids of this lot in my area.

Of course, I might be wrong and I might have been lured into a false sense of security from a lifetime of small tweaks and no revolutionary changes. Maybe the fact I can’t see that changing makes me a bit jaded.

what is this dystopian PPB on right now? Keeps mentioning "the Plan" but doesn't reveal the details of the Plan
Deep scary scottish voice... no plan, we have one but not telling you what it is as we'd have to kill you. Scary Russians... but don't ask us to publish the report into Russian influence!

What a pile of shite, not one actual truth or positive reason to vote for them, just fear and negativity.

If they told you what the plan was, then people would ask them questions about it, and the plan would unravel.

The plan will only be kept safe by never being revealed.

At some point they will tell us the plan worked, and we should be very grateful.

Ha ha ha ha

The interview I saw was the follow up to that. He had a right go about the call.

Thinking about it, think it was a bit of a ****’s trick. Given the sky journalist was the recipient of the call. Shapps has got every right to be pissed off. Even though he’s a ****.

Yep, he was right to hang up tbh.

Gross breach of trust. Maybe he was calling to apologise for being late or something. I feel uncomfortable defending Schapps but breaking the news to him in that way was out of order.

Yes, never thought I’d be doing it either! Thats decency for you though, calling out a cunts trick even when it’s being done to a **** :)

Me and my brother were talking on our drive down to Wembley and I know he’s much better off financially than me (good RAF career followed by a great job v different middle management jobs having worked my way up plus a fucking shit divorce), and mind he’s still contemplating voting Tory…. Says it’s been good for him, to say the air was blue for a few minutes would be an understatement tbh.

There’s fuck all redeeming about them, they’ve had 14 years and just made them and their donors richer while shafting the rest of us.

I personally don’t really like Starmer, can’t warm to him however that’s a trivial point in it all, we need a change, we need a government that looks after the poorest in society first not the richest, we need to get a grip on our utilities and ensure that they’re maintained to work for the people of this country and not the hedge funds of the city. We need some more empathy from our so called leaders and start building for our kid’s futures otherwise god knows what we’ll resemble in 20 years, it’s a frightening outlook if we don’t get things right soon.

Don’t disagree with any of that
