One of Sunak’s big claims on their political broadcast wedged in between the news last night was that they took the big decision to scrap Hs2. Not before one of his predecessors in Johnson made sure it went ahead when pressing on with shovels in the ground in Birmingham during the very early days of the covid pandemic when everyone else’s attention was elsewhere.

Hs2 has been an embarrassment for the Tories and not something you use to crow about to get people to vote for you. It got paid for at huge expense and has no purpose for people living past Birmingham.

This twat is part of a government which wants to leave the ECHR to further their own political ends.
The same ECHR that we helped shape and became signatories to as a safeguard against the recurrence of such dreadful events as D-Day and the events that led us to it.

No, I was paraphrasing what Sunak / Johnson et al would probably say.

The fact it has more than a patina of truth to it tells you how far we’ve plumbed the political-depths.

I hope they get absolutely eviscerated.

In the meantime I’m going to go and look for the world’s smallest violin. It’s urgently needed for the country’s private schools.
