Keir Starmer

Wait let me get this right, the next prime minister of this country when saying something that makes everyone in the room laugh at him needs a quiet word in his ear.
He can't work it out for himself? He really lacks any kind of self awareness,? He can't read a room and has never thought I wonder if I'm repeating myself a bit too much here.

It's like he rehearsed something and cannot divert from this no matter what happens. Like a doll with a button you press. What is it specifically with politicians that makes them act this way?

Fuckin hell we don't have much of a choice in this country.

This is what happens when you are trying to please everyone and have to watch every single word you say, might as well be a cardboard cutout.

Yeah but the giggling had already started previously.on other interviews. I was thinking don't say it, please its embarrassing don't say it and then he did. Is he deaf and blind to all around him or is it some kind sub conscious trick some pillock has told him to do?

Don't even get me started on my sons 15 and 3/4. Who the fuck speaks like that. He's not fuckin Adrian Mole:-)

Oh pandora....

The fact that most of the commentary about Starmer following last night’s Sky News interviews relates to him stumbling to find a response to a daft question about him being robotic suggests that the media couldn’t find anything of substance to criticise him about when it comes to policy. Can see why 64% of viewers thought he performed better than Sunak.

Someone should tell him that constantly repeating the toolmaker thing makes him a laughing stock though.

His answer to the robotic question was very robotic though. His weakest moment.

Why didn’t he just say something like yes I’m not a stand up comedian but after 14 years of comedians now it’s time for a serious person to do a serious job.

Daft question anyway.

After the first debate there was something on where they were tracking the audience response to the debate. One of those things where people press if they like something, and if they don't, and the toolmaker story was about the most positive thing on the night.

Harry Cole was on, and he was laughing, but saying that for a lot of people it was actually the first time they've heard it. It's one of those things that the 10% of the population who are actively into politics hear 100 times, and the other 90% are oblivious.

Starmer obviously needs to be programmed to laugh when other people do.

Agreed. He should have thought faster on his feet but the fact that’s the biggest criticism suggests there was not much to pull him up on when he was answering proper questions. Don’t think fluffing an ad lib will lose him many votes. Not as many as trying to convince people that migration and waiting lists are going down when the statistics say they are going up.

Awe inspiring speech and manifesto launch.

Gave me hope for the future for the first time in years...
Although I wouldn't quite say awe inspiring it was definitely a 1000 notches up on anything I've seen so far in this campaign and it absolutely has given me a light at the end of a very, very, long tunnel. :-)
