I'm not...
I mean you literally are, UEFA have confirmed it was the correct decision and have pointed out that both the referees and teams were told before the tournament that raising a foot in a tackle with studs facing an opponent in a way that endangers the opposition player would be a foul and a booking.

It’s literally the most clear cut penalty.

Raising your feet in Europe has always been frowned by referees on hasn't it?

I really didn’t understand the controversy. If a centre back lumps it up field and the forward closes him
down and catches him after the ball
is cleared it’s always a foul.

It was a soft penalty which got England back in the game. I am sticking by it. I would be livid if that was against City and I would call it soft if we (City) got the decision.

It was no different to when an attacker tries to block a clearance, doesn't get the ball and the defender then catches the player on their follow through. Its 100% always given as a free kick and the attacker nearly always gets booked. For me its a stonewall penalty.
Letter of the law it isn't, apparently?

You only know that AFTER the incident, the problem is they change the rules so often nobody knows what is or what not constitutes a foul, even the "expert" on ITV said its NOT a penalty.

That's irrelevant whether the wider public knew it or not. If UEFA have indeed briefed refs and teams prior to the tournament then that's all that matters and no-one can have any complaints when it doesn't go their way.

No but if it went the other way you would be fucking fuming, it's no good telling the refs and us fans 'the mugs' haven't a clue what's going on, look I'm delighted we're through but it's just another example of OUR game being fucked over.
