MLB 2024

A supposed country singer absolutely murdered the national anthem at the MLB Home Run Derby tonight in Arlington, TX.

Needless to say, she’s being crucified across social media. My favourite so far, “I thought abortions were illegal in Texas”. This woman’s career is not going to recover.

Judge for yourselves.

Christ that's painful. Is she wasted?

The Phillies played seven games this week against the Astros and Braves and went 5-2 all while being in an offensive funk. Unfortunately I was at the game they lost against Atlanta. Being there reminded me how much I fucking hate the Braves, their racist organization and their douchebag fans.

I watched the Yankees last night get mullered by the cardinals last night, I found it strange after the 7th inning they stop the game and do America the brave introduce a veteran, does that happen everywhere?

Labor Day? Normally the seventh-inning stretch involves something.

White Sox sink to a franchise record in terms of defeats and are fast homing in on the Mets’ 40-120 in their inaugural season. Might even do worse yet and catch the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics’ record. And I thought there might be improvement on last year, ouch.

Not sure about the customs at every stadium, but often between the seventh-inning halves someone ‘famous’ will murder ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’.
The "famous" person thing is just Wrigley Field. Most stadiums just have an organist play the song and in Baltimore they sing "Thank God I'm a Country Boy".

I was looking at tickets for games and the different price structure obviously sitting right down the front to up in the gods is a big difference,if you think football is expensive have a look at their prices! Season tickets as well, however you do get a lot of games for that depending on which package you go for. I’d love to go to one if I ever return to the states.

If you go to the States and want to take in a game, wait until the day of to purchase your tickets. Very fee regular season MLB games are completely sold out.

A few hours or even minutes before the game starts use SeatGeek, StubHub or Vivid Seats or something similar and purchase tickets that way. A lot of people who have tickets and can't make the game will sell them at below face value to try and recoup something even if it isn't the full ticket price.

Mets on fire-9 in a row. After an atrocious to months, Lindor is playing like an elite signing!!

The playoffs are gravy. I would think if they played a very good team in the play they would get mullered. It would be valuable experience. Unfortunately it looks like they will lose Alonso to free agency and Manaea as well.

With Verlander and Scherzers big contracts coming off the books, I would consider going balls deep for Soto. Having said that those huge long term contracts very rarely work out for the team.

Don't follow baseball but I've just read an article on the A's final game at the Coliseum and from there worked backwards through the saga of Fisher's relocation 'plans'.

What an absolute shitshow, Fisher makes Swales look like Mansour and the MLB and other owners emerge with zero credit. What a shabby way to run a sport and what ever the wrongs and rights of the franchise system how the hell does a city of nearly half a million people end up with no major sports teams.

I'm not an A's fan but I have nothing against them. They, in the past, have had some good and great teams. There are legitimate legends of the game who played for that club.

What has been done to their fans is an absolute travesty. I feel bad for them. It's as if the current owner did his best to drive fans away to make an excuse to move the club. I'm not sure why teams are wanting to move to Las Vegas. Yes. It's glitzy but they won't really have a large fan base. It's a transient city more so than many others. And it certainly isn't "recession proof." Maybe the Athletics owner and NFL team Raiders owner hope visitors to the city will spend money to watch a game? I don't know but it doesn't seem like a sound plan to me.https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2... is only one reason, city of Oakland, the city
