Charlotte O'Neill (the Women's managing director) has said on the City podcast that there are more signings due soon. We definitely need a few and her words are quite encouraging. You can read them here:

Great interview with her on City plus if you have it. She has had a varied career prior to joining the boy's academy. I hadn't realized how long she has been at City.
She does appear to like Taylor though, granted she wouldn't say he's tactically inept on a podcast.
Anyway she seems to have high expectations of where she wants to take the women's team and girls academy.

Fixtures just released. Away at Emirates on opening weekend!

Tricky start but I think a big showpiece fixture was always going to be a scheduled as the seasons curtain raiser and I'm taking it as a compliment that it's us. NewCo were always going to want a big sellout crowd in the first televised game of the season to kick off this new era of WSL.

I don't think it's great but i don't think it's that serious either. The maddest thing about it for me is that she appears to have had it in her locker at work! EDIT - actually just says that they searched her locker and not that she had it there

Yeah, unless there's an angle to it we don't know about e.g. they had info that made them believe she was involved in the mass distribution of it, then it sounds kind of excessive to me.

For the police to get access to a work locker there must have been a decent reason surely?

Really hoping it's Fujino and yep we do obvs need a keeper for cover. I'd have thought we'd bring some cover in at CB too given the outgoing players. Absolutely gutted about Shimizu, really hope it is t what we're all thinking.

Goodness me! Why is football in the Olympics anyway? The World Cup and the Continental competitions should be enough. I really hope that she isn't seriously injured.

Congratulations to our Chloe. I did not realise her husband is a former Everton Groundsman.

Perhaps planning her wedding caused her to be a bit off her usual form last season? I know she trains hard. My daughter used to watch her training videos during covid lockdown.

Aoba Fujino looks like a good addition to the squad.

Presumably, she’ll be playing off Bunny, and picking up her knock-downs, in similar fashion to Frannie and Wyn Davies all those years ago.

Absolutely psyched with this Fujino signing. We've made three really top notch signings this summer (Still hoping Shimizu can actually play this season!)

I think think we need some more cover in central defence but if we do bring anyone in there it will be more squad/back up type signings.

Fujino coming in surely means Chloe Kelly leaves. Love her to bits but i do think it might be the right time for her have a fresh start somewhere.

Agree re Kelly - she looked disinterested last season… a move away would probably suit all parties. Chloe won’t want to sit on the bench and I can’t see her getting many starts, unless she has an upturn in form and shows more application.
