Yeah get that.. we do have a loan that when we took out for the football group, it had to be paid in full by 2027 don't know what % we pay to it or how that works..

I think we will have given players a deadline if you want to leave we need enough time to get a replacement don't be expecting a move in the last week of the transfer window.

Pretty much like that, they will have most likely put a value report on the income it will generate, and secured finances against that to build it. Some might be contributed directly to lessen the repayment. But they won't be taking 300m out of the club or the running budgets, to pay for the stand.
 
Start of the season is going to be chaotic, with players still on holiday possibly wanting to move when they come back then trying to replace them, it’s only 3 weeks until the first premier league game, Chelsea lineup will be interesting to say the least.

Might have to do with the rule change of number of loan players. Since July 2024 clubs are only allowed to have 6 players loaned in and 6 loaned out.

Last season it was 7 players. That's a big over supply on the market (maybe why market prizes aren't going through the roof).

U21 AND club-trained players are exempt but many players who were U21 last year are not anymore now and have to find a new club.

For City, I guess our loaned players last season were:
Cancelo, Coutu, Perrone, Phillips, Kaboré, Stevanovic.

Club trained - and exempt - are:
McAtee, Knight, Doyle, JWE, Robertson, Burns.

Kayky was U21 but isn't anymore. If Couto is indeed sold on a permanent to Dortmund,
Kayky could be loaned again.

Bottom line, many clubs have tricky situations and we are in a good situation to have many club trained players from our top academy.
 
Given we’re doing the grand unveiling of Savinho at the weekend, it does seem like the club are acting like that is our biggest transfer this summer.

Re transfers, I think it depends on the merry go round. Loads of clubs seem to need to sell before they buy. Once the ball gets rolling, there might be loads of transfers.

just seen this window closes 30th of August 11pm Friday rather than the dragged out to 1st of September 11pm.
if Txiki is not aware of this and he wants to leave it late its not going to go through due to fax sent too late for Musiala.

right now my feeling is also that Savio is the last and only addition to the first squad. and also dont see Kevin, Walker, Alvarez leaving. Ederson imo would have changed already is Saudis are serious about him. we surely need to advise buyers of a deadline early August.

the struggle to finally sell the deadwood is real, only loans are likely again. next summer we will be still hoping to get rid of Phillips and Cancelo and maybe Nunes will be on that list unless he puts in a serious shift this season and does a 180 to last season almost.

It feels like Pep wants to use the academy lads more. The videos of them training Peps all smiles and looks excited to teach the academy lads. We’ve got a crop of talent to use.

Fair enough but I think it would be silly to not just add that DM/CM hybrid midfielder this summer?

He does every summer, doesnt mean they'll be trusted come crunch time.

I suspect that @richards30 will be totally frustrated, if it is to believed that any incoming transfer business is to be determined by the futures of both Cancelo and Phillips, together with the alleged possible outgoings of Kevin, Kyle and Edison.

Surely the PL and their corrupt and hastily thrown together PSR roles aren't going to bite us on the arse ?
