'That would be an ecumenical matter.I think religion can be a unifying theme in a community, but ultimately in global terms, it's a fallacy that will tear us apart.

What would happen if my son married, the next in line daughter of the monarch and decided to raise their kids as Catholic?I think you'd make a smashing King if and when the lineage rules change. Actually they have, because you can now marry a catholic and not have to stand down which would be good news for me and I'm guessing good news for you.
Arise Eamo of the Isles or even Bob the first of his line. I have a balcony so will start to get some wave practice in.
Nearest I can find at short notice but safe to say that a Catholic royal cannot become the monarch. What would happen if my son married, the next in line daughter of the monarch and decided to raise their kids as Catholic?
Would their eldest be next in line for the throne?
Nuff Z.Nearest I can find at short notice but safe to say that a Catholic royal cannot become the monarch.

I get the humour, but therein lies the problem. It’s not really like that, is it?That'd be a bit like a Protestant Pope :)

Separation of church and state.
Head of state where I live can be whatever religion he/she chooses. Provided we vote for them.
Bloody Henry VIIINuff Z.
Forget Republicans. That’s The Northern Irish you’re referring to, I would guess. Catholic Nationalists presumably. It's mainly ceremonial the monarch isn't kicking any doors down demanding laws be changed. The reality is that the Pope is head of the Catholics and the Monarch is the head of the Church Of England.
I'd go full ceremonial but that wouldn't be enough for republicans who are very much in a minority, so you'll forgive me if I say fuck 'em :)
To which, you’d find no protest from me.That'd be a bit like a Protestant Pope :)

What about your Jewish/Muslim/Hindu/Scots (sic) communities etc., etc.
Would the same restrictions apply?
Just asking for a Scottish friend.

I'd get rid of all royalty and titles. It's a load of outdated bollocks. And it upholds the aristocracy and class system.
I don’t hate them mate. They’re yours and you’re welcome to them.Mate I mean republicans who are anti-monarchy not Catholic nationalists. Monarchies aren't voted in they just are what they are.
I love the pomp and ceremony and want to keep that part, it's a tradition it may be anachronistic but there again all traditions are aren't they? I'd also remove the religious barriers allowing anyone who marries into the firm to be head honcho.
Some people just hate them, and it makes me want to keep them even more.
Depends upon whether the government wants him to say something or not, as others have outlined above.Well done to Charles speaking up today. So much for the monarch not being able to speak on political matters.
