PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

That's not a thing outside of Scotland, as far as I know.

I get your point though. A 'fudge' that clears us but leaves enough to speculation isn't helpful.

Unfortunately it is almost inevitable, and we still see the CAS verdict widely misrepresented, so I'd take being cleared in any way it comes.
We will always be called out on the charges even if cleared but I would still take that situation every time as to the alternative.

Getting to the top of football is fucking messy. The corruption and cheating amongst the teams is disgusting.

Some teams will never be treated equal no matter how much we try.

This skirmish is about the old guard throwing their weight around because we beat them on the pitch.

The disingenuous smear will linger… damage has been done but nothing we can’t come out of relatively ok.

I know @projectriver has already debunked the notion that clubs could sue us directly but I find it beyond laughable that these articles never cover the opposite outcome to us being found guilty and what action WE might take as a club if we're cleared. And City's official position about no wrongdoing and having irrefutable evidence of that always seems to be chucked in as an afterthought about 3 fucking paragraphs in!
Not as many clicks in that.

Its not mate .

If you have lost and won as much as I have done gambling you might get my point , hey ho no big deal but am telling you now if City go on odds on ( I don't think they will ) they could be a problem or to.
With the greatest of respect it is, I have been a betting trader for 40 years what I posted below is irrefutable fact. If you disagree with any of it tell me why with facts to back it up?

Your average punter willing to spunk £50 on City to go down based purely on hate and false hope has little bearing on a weighty political and legal matter.

Am not talking about the average punter , all am gonna say Bet 365 made over 3 billion quid last year and they have us at 16/1 so am not concerned in the slightest that we are going to get relegated ( you might think am being stupid and that's absolutely fine ) so we might well just move on , up the blues

I don’t hear any clamour from the rags, arse or dips as to the shit Chelsea got up to under Roman. Where is the headlines looking the titles back?

City is massive….

We are all everyone talks about.

Time we realised blues, we are the club dominating and that is pissing everyone off.

That tweet sounds like it was generated using AI, or it should be tried for crimes against the English language.

We can't be punished if the IC doesn't find that the PL's evidence is sufficient to show we breached the stated rules about accurate accounts, etc. There is a scenario that lies between that, and knowing material misstatement of our finances, where the IC finds that we did breach some rules (let's say those relating to the Mancini contract) but the amounts involved were immaterial in the overall scheme of things, that we'd acted in accordance with professional advice and that the rules were ambiguous or unclear.

It's possible, in that latter scenario, that we might get a slap on the wrist without any substantive punishment.
Careful, certain reporters will use your words for their gain "city whistle-blower said they are guilty for mancini dodgy payments"

Remember when it was first leaked that City were suing the PL over APT rules. The media were outraged and covered as if it was doomsday.

Was leaked on Monday that City have had some success in this case ( hidden within the change of date for 115 ) yet not a peep anywhere else about this.

Everything is being stage managed and reporting has changed to WHEN we are punished.
Correct and there just piling on while they can because when we are cleared they have done there job because every gullible fucker up and down the country already has us guilty and that will never change

Since 2011/12 to now, 13 seasons, we have won 8 PLs.
United, Leicester, Liverpool have won 1 each. Chelsea twice.
We have qualified for every CL during that time., usually going on to the knockout stage. Something that the clubs above and Arsenal have not done.
We have the highest revenue in world football due to this on field success but have spent less money on players than United and Chelsea, and in the last 5 years Arsenal.

How come it's only us infringing the Premier League's rules?

You seemed to have quoted our :) revenue as our profit figure?
Revenue was 2.9 billion but our profit was -24.5 million. Although that figure turned into profit when taking into account tax breaks etc.
2.9billion pound profit-imagine!

That is the whole point if the charges, throw as much crap at us and see how much of it sticks.

Couldn't agree more.
Let the "banter" merchants dredge up the charges as much as they like because their answer is ready-made. The reality will inevitably be that soon City will have faced CAS, APT hearings plus the 115 case and we will still be standing. Three different cases, yet City are still in a position to thrive. How many more do they want to prove it has all been a game of smoke and mirrors?
You are right though: the smears, as you say, will linger - but, I believe that over time, their importance will dwindle.

We shouldn't forget the Old Cartel have a proprietary sense of the Premier League. Not surprisingly so when we remember it was their blackmailing, arm-twisting, railroading and double-dealing that manifested the competition. The arrival of new money (Chelsea, ourselves, Newcastle inevitably) has already weakened their command of the narrative (not to mention the remuneration) and the seemingly ineluctable appointment of government oversight threatens to remove much of their considerable influence.

I say much of their influence because inevitably they will adapt and evolve. They are astute at playing political shenanigans so I wouldn't dismiss them as a force in the future. What I will say, is they will never wield the same degree of power again. Their frantic efforts at establishing the ESL, Project Big Picture, apparently ilegal PSR rules and the constant harassment of City (and others) might be offered as proof that they know how much power they will lose too. They'll still have a great deal of course but they are desperately fighting to remain untouchable.
The tide of change has already begun to lap around their ankles. City's emergence from these 115 charges will only expose them further.

(Edited because a combination of my fat fingers and ducking autocarrot made it almost illegible)

Very likely nothing at all

Sky sports the other day reviewing the back pages with 2 journos, when talking about City, one of them described us as "arguably the biggest club in the world".
Now I'm not sure about that just yet, however it will infuriate the rags because their the self proclaimed biggest club in the world.

I was thinking the same about Chelsea. They basically admitted their guilt under Abramovic and frankly have taken the absolute piss with their various dodges under new owners. Yet barely an eyebrow raised (because they’re not winning things)

Unfortunately this is the inevitable outcome of a clear and organised smear campaign against our Club.
