Kudus had a few good opportunities, but none of them were due to him not being a capable defender. Maybe that one in the first half where he was a bit too far off Kudus, and he pushed a shot wide, but the others were down to our midfield being bypassed or getting counterattacked. Even then, he handled those situations brilliantly.

Surely he’s nailed down the RB spot for now? Incredible again.

Really pleasing to see as I felt we didn’t see enough of him last season and was getting a tad worried about his future, but he can go into England camp with his head held high - that was a deserved call up.

Walker came on and had a dreadful, and I mean dreadful, 5 minute spell.

No brainer now for Lewis to be the starting full back. He was given a chance and has nailed it right down.

It was interesting that Walker seemingly came on at CB with Akanji pushed into midfield as opposed to a direct swap between Lewis and Walker.

As well as being a skilful player, he has a phenomenal engine. He only managed 807 league minutes all last season but is already up to 270; every minute gains him invaluable experience and others invaluable rest.

Did you see that Walker cameo?

It was not that Lewis needed that to secure his spot, but it all guaranteed it.

It’s crazy how he just appears in loads of space between the lines in midfield and you’re not quite sure how he’s got there.

He’s doing this as well as being a proper full back when needed too.

We’ve got a unique player here. Just hope Pep stays a couple more seasons and allows Rico to bloom into a superstar.

Glad he's taken his chances, he's been phenomenal and is developing amazingly

Yes there is still some defensive lapses, and his shooting needs some major work, crazy he hasn't scored yet

Love this kid, there are bigger games to come but 1 vs 1 there aren't much harder than Kudus

That’s inevitable for a 19 year old though and he’s improving all the time.
