PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

I asked someone I know at the club what the mood was like now that the case has finally started, and he said no-one is even really talking about it, which is hopefully a sign of supreme confidence. There doesn't seem to be any emergency contingency plans being drawn up, or people fearing for their jobs or anything like that, just business as usual. Given what's at stake, namely an existential threat to the club, you'd expect there to be a bit more concern if they truly feared the possibility of a guilty verdict.
Obviously without knowing anything about what your mates job is I imagine there will be a tight lid being kept on all of this stuff. Id only really expect Pep to know because he's Pep but I wouldn't imagine the players getting updated for example.

If it's a 10-12 week process who from the club will even be in the room? I can't imagine Khaldoon or Soriano etc sitting around

I know everyone goes on about how city can afford the best legal minds in the business but has anyone ever considered why Pannick would take a case that he is 100 percent going lose according to the esteemed media?

Purely monetary? Nah these fellas are loaded. His reputation will certainly take a hit if we end up losing with “irrefutable evidence”.

Game within games…

Twisting my melon man -:)
Same can be said of the PL legal team

We don’t know what advice the PL’s legal team gave them
They may have said, “taking into consideration the CAS decision and you have very little other evidence, we rate your chance of proving the case to be less than 10%”
And Masters is so balls deep in this he’s given the go ahead even though the odds are “massively” in City’s favour

A defeat would destroy hundreds of jobs at City itself and undermine the next phase of urban re-generation by Manchester Life. That’s just for starters.

Sorry not a chance, it will destroy us and ast the very least we would be looking for new ownership.
Shit happens, all part of the ride, but City as a club will come through, and if it’s conference league then the next generation of city fans can eulogise about needing a win at Curzon to get promoted.

Having said all that it’s not happening, we’ll just need to adopt a ‘stain’ in the 3rd strip as a fuck you to everyone.

I sincerely hope 115 has been copyrighted by the club and is used in next seasons home kit as a fuck you to the PL.

Who is Jaber Mohammed? Delaney is waffling on about him as if he is key to us being done.

I thought I’d asked on this thread earlier but it was unintentionally put in the media one.

Is it true that we face 35 charges for falling to cooperate with the investigation?? That would worry me.

I had 30, but the number isn't important. That is just six rule breaches for each of five years (including the rather vague "acting in good faith" rule). What is much more important is the nature of the non-cooperation.

This has been pretty much done to death on here, but the club took the PL to the courts about providing certain information and lost, so I think it's unlikely the club put itself in a position of defying a court order. Then, presumably, there are a couple of things left.

Firstly, it's possible the action of taking the PL to the courts (which the PL considered a delaying tactic) is thought by the PL to be non-cooperation.

Secondly, there is dispute between the PL and the club about the ability of the PL to ask for information which may not covered by the court order or, in the opinion of the club, by the rules.

In any case, both sides will have arguments and counter-arguments, so let's wait and see.
