Some people just see whatever they want when they've already decided on someone. He was good tonight.

Made excellent off the ball runs across and behind that nobody else was providing.

Everytime we lost possession he was busting a gut to get back.

He would have had 2 assists tonight too if players could finish, he gave Haaland the only real chance he had from a cross who should have buried it with his header and he played a great chipped ball into Rico Lewis who should have finished it too.

Good display from him.

Had very little impact on the game, he is simply not at the required standard and unfortunately I don't think he will make it at City.

Can City somehow make him eat or exercise more in gym and improve in terms of muscle & strength...

Each time he gets the ball and there is opponent near him, I have a feeling he will loose it or slip or something like that.

That kids O'Reilly and Wright are much fitter and ready than he is.

Yes, once he gets the ball and accelerates OK, that's something different, but in most cases we attack in tight spaces and players don't have luxury of big space behind.

The only thing he hasn't got that the others have imo is a better first touch. The ball got away from him at least3 times. But I think he is better than most at getting behind a defence. I like him

Created 2 of the best chances in the game, stretched the game for us with good movement behind and sprinted back to stop counters more than any other player. What kind of impact was you wanting?

I agree he has good movement and he carries the ball well, but he is knocked off the ball too easily. Do you honestly think he will forge a career at City?

They were relatively easy chances, too.

He needs to be coming off the bench in League games, McAtee as well. If not, then we won’t see him play again for another three weeks and Sparta Prague.

I don't disagree with the comments on his physical presence, that's not something that's a long term problem though.

he has all the natural physical attributes, just needs to bulk a bit and learn how to protect the ball better, Rodri is the master of that yet it was a weakness of his when he first arrived. Its a very coachable trait and if you're writing a list of things you can easily teach a footballer, that would be right near the top.

The bigger issue with him and the only real one imo is his first touch, that needs improving on substantially and I suspect that is the single reason why Pep won't even contemplate having him as a 6.

Remains to be seen whether he will have a long career here, I'm not willing to make calls like that based off so little evidence to date and that is precisely my point when questioning people that have already written him off.

I see no reason why he cannot be a success here, I see a lot of promise and attributes in him that we sorely lack In the squad. He had a very good game tonight, better than most yet there's posters slating him and displaying clear evidence they've preemptively made their mind up on him and will now only see what supports that premature judgement.

The real issue isn't his touch, it's the concentration required to have the first touch. Poor decisions and lack of concentration are littered throughout his performances and you're probably right that people notice them more than the good stuff he does.

I thought the commentary was very polite when he somehow ended up sliding along on his ass this evening.

Useful for playing against dross like tonight and giving 1st teamers a rest. That's it I'm afraid

This is Pep's major problem.
Utilising the 5 subs seldom happens.
Unfortunately, think McAtee might have edged in front of Nunes.
When KDB comes back and with Phil looking sharp again, where is Nunes going to play ?
He isn't strong/tough/experienced enough to play a defensive midfield role.
Gundo could play alongside Kova in big games, so Nunes can only play an attacking midfield role ?
Apart from injuries or suspensions, think he will only play against minor European opposition.
Would make sense to sell him in January, replacing with a younger, defensive midfielder to learn the Rodri role...

I think he had an alright game, although seeing him messed up very easy short pass couple of times was a little bit of frustrating. If he can improve that and his first touch and figure out how to co-operate with wingers around penalty area, he will be very useful for the team. I also think as long as he doesn't lose the ball easily, Pep will give him more trust and game time.

Playing out left last night he got acres of space but like Grealish when he is there he played it safe and rarely took people on, seems he’s learned off Pep not to lose the ball, I love Pep but he does seem to stifle certain players abilities for the greater good.

You can’t fault his effort and was still running in the last few minutes. Was difficult to judge without consistent game time. However, when it came to taking their chance McAtee certainly did.
