Liverpool has played absolutely nobody. They are about to enter the gauntlet.Like the Brentford game, very very lucky to have all 3 points due to them both missing great chances to go 2 up.
Pep worked a miracle last season to make 4 in a row history but i am afraid this team and squad looks like it will fall short this season.
A shockingly bad defence these days, god knows why, as its the same players that have done well previously, we just cannot keep a clean sheet in the PL.
A huge issue for this is our awful midfield. Zero pace, no energy and teams just run through us at will.
A case of largely 2 hugely disappointing summer windows, not addressing our shallow squad depth, poor buys and not addressing key areas that needs addressing whilst actually making our squad weaker by selling and not replacing only our 2nd striker in the squad.
3rd is the best i feel we can finish this season, both Dippers and Arsenal look far better teams, Dippers have more goals throughout the team and the way they are being officiated whilst both them and Arsenal create so much, and score lots from set pieces.
Our set piece coach is so bad he has become satirical, todays were more embarrassing than ever and presented more chances for the opposition, how Pep cannot see this and give him the sack us baffling.
And a team of our size these days, it’s extremely poor squad planning when we have a few players injured and cannot name a bench with the allotted places and that even included 2 keepers.
I think we looked average but our standards, but we didn’t look standard average mate. Fulham are very good and counter as well as any team in the league - which is a tactic that has always threatened us ever since pep came. We’re missing our two best players. Any team would struggle. Pep will sort it. He ALWAYS does.I thought we were very average today. Great goals from Kova and Doku though but my god they could have had 5 today.
We will miss Rodri and when De Bruyne also doesn’t play we look pretty average.
Defence a mess.
Fulham were good.
they barely concede while everyone scored against us .Liverpool has played absolutely nobody. They are about to enter the gauntlet.
Its like this every season. We scrape by and drop some points then January arrives and VROOOOOOM
We can not be perfect every fucking week. We are perfect when it matters and we will be again.
And lay off players who have won the whole world for us. Let say we win shag all this season, so? (We will win though. We will)
They haven’t played anybody. Heck they lost to Forest. I have feeling they will have at least a loss and a draw coming in this stretch they are about to enter.they barely concede while everyone scored against us .
To get fingered?Liverpool has played absolutely nobody. They are about to enter the gauntlet.
Lewis is very young, but he has talent and determination. Perhaps his best position will emerge over the next 18 months. Don’t panic!what is he then tho? u can't play him against physical midfield neither, dilemma this
Summed up perfectly and saves me the time to write similar. That was awful and law of averages says we are not going to keep getting away with it. Fair play to Fulham but in years gone by, we dispatch that level of opposition with ease. Not so this season.
We don’t have a midfield. Kova two goals, the 2nd of which was fantastic but it should not mask the fact that we have a gaping hole right in the middle. Gundo is either unfit or finished. I hope it’s the former but I’m leaning towards it being the latter given what we are seeing from him. The guy couldn’t move for the last 30 mins.
The two wide men of Grealish and Bernie is fucking terrible. Easy to defend against and offering zero threat. Grealish hasn’t scored in 2024 and Bernie well over 20 games. If I was the opposition manager and saw those two out wide, I would be fucking delighted. I actually think, we might actually be better served if Bernie and Grealish moved central. Bernie definitely.
Our defence also needs a kick up the arse. I have some sympathy because they are getting little to no protection from the midfield but at the moment, Josko is the only one that is switched on.
Eddie was fantastic today and has certainly won us points.
I know what you said, no need to repeat it. I disagree with your assessment and you are factually wrong by saying we were outplayed for large parts of the game. If you'd said 'some' I might have agreed with you. The stats I've seen show we had 58% possession, which indicates it wasn't that close.I didn’t say they were the better side. I said we were poor, which we were, and that we were outplayed for large parts of the game, which we were. We had 52% possession today which indicates how close it was.
Should we not have a post match thread then? All just come on and say “good 3 points” and enjoy our weekend?I detest how people slag off players on here. Utter shite most of it.
Yeah, but the thing is all those points we keep dropping….oh.Lets put things in perspective here, fulham were sixth had not let in more than 1 goal all season, had just beaten newcastle 3-1 last week and had a week off and despite us playing shit we scored 3 and ground out a win.
Bluemoon response : THE WORLD IS ENDING.
