NFL 2024-25

The Vikings (and Washington) are the big surprises so far, but i think the Lions are better than them, Dallas and the packers (FTP).
Detroit always get fucked over by the refs in Dallas, so that one could go either way.

Need to win tonight first though...Go Lions, as they say round these parts!
Would love to go to ford field for a game, atmosphere sounds great. I went to a few lions games at the silverdome in the early 2000’sfor pre season games, but they were always really bad and no one there. Finally the lions have something to cheer. Hopefully in the next few years I’ll get back to Michigan and if lucky get to a game.

Lions one of four teams that have never been to a Super Bowl. The others are Cleveland, Jacksonville and Houston but only the lions and browns were in the NFL when the first Super Bowl was played.

Cracking game in Detroit and important win. Class from Goff and some great play calling from them. Still defensively not great, so many penalties that will cost them if they don’t sort that out.

That’s a very fair assessment. You’re right that he wasn’t the biggest problem and it one of his best games so far, but that’s a low bar. In the first half especially, he kept overlooking wide-open WRs, holding on to the ball too long and ending up scrambling. You’re right that the O-line was a joke, but he wasn’t helping himself any.

The real killer was the bad snap in that final drive. How you do that after 2-3 mins prep time at the 2 min warning, was mind-blowing.

Browns fans were at least half the crowd. Easily 25-30k there. A really fun few days, despite the result.

Spot on. Wouldn't disagree with the assessment of Watson and Chris Harris. Just as well though that he didn't throw any more to Cooper lol

It was clear from the stream that there were a lot of Browns there. Really impressive as it must be around a four hour flight.

What was it like being in an air conditioned stadium?

Go anywhere especially good?

Just got back to the hotel after the Raiders-Browns game. Allegheny stadium is pretty nice, but not great, $2bn doesn’t buy much nowadays. I’m also flabbergasted that a new build stadium still has concourses that are too narrow and bathrooms that are too few.

First time I’ve seen Watson in the flesh. The benefit of being high up in the cheap seats is that you can truly appreciate the amount of wide-open receivers he overlooks.
I thought the Allegiant stadium was incredible when I visited to watch the Raiders a few years ago. I want to go back at some point, perhaps when Raiders finally manage to get an half decent team I’ll revisit.

Washington are looking decent. I honestly don’t see where the Browns are going to get another win this season. They’re an absolute dumpster-fire.
Still have to play Cincinnati, twice. That said, they’re often scoring 30+ scoring points, Cleveland haven’t scored more than 20+, so perhaps not.

They are shafted with the Watson deal. The Commies look promising though, Jayden looks the real deal.

Absolute shocker from Buffalo, Allen had his lowest ever completion percentage (~30%) yet still managed to stay in the game, got the ball back with about 30 seconds left and the scores tied at 20, but still found a way to give Houston the ball back with enough time to run a play and get into FG position. Following kick sails through and the clock runs out, unbelievable way to lose a game!

Standard Buffalo.

“And I won’t choke like the Buffalo Bills”
