North Stand expansion - seating, ticketing etc

How does everyone feel about this? CityMatters posting on their social media account that City only plan to sell FlexiGold seasoncards going forward?

What this means is that any fan trying to get a new seasoncard would have to pay £150 on top of what existing SC holders pay for the same product. Price rise by stealth?

Surely giving fans the choice of whether FG works for them or not, ahead of new seasoncards becoming available as part of the North Stand development, is the best option if the club truly wants to offer 'flexibility'?

Doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. This is the future of “season tickets” as far as the club are concerned. The traditional season ticket will probably be phased out over time. Hope I’m wrong but I doubt it.

If you don’t stand on SSL you won’t know where the singers are. In truth groups of singers and individual singers are scattered all over SSL1 amongst City fans who sing every now and again, and don’t sing at all.

It’s hard to pin point all the small singing groups, but there’s a largish group of singers at the back, and across the back, under, and infront of the SSL2 overhang on 115. There’s a group of singers at the back of 114. There’s a group of singers at the back of 116 or somewhere on 116. Some chants also start on 117 and 118, but it’s hard to pin point exactly where from. There are other small groups of singers and individuals, some right next to the away fans, who start chants off in the middle and at the bottom of 114, 115 and 116.

If it were possible get all those groups and singers together in 115, I think we’d fill a block. Obviously that’s never going to happen due to season ticket holders, etc.

If you add the singers from 111, 110, 109, SSL3, singers around the ground, and new singers via the additional 8000 NSL2 season tickets, it wouldn’t be impossible to fill at least 1, if not 2 blocks, in the safe standing section on NSL2.
A lot sing in 119 where i am, big Polish lad gets a lot going

What do they pay per match after the £150? Is it the match day price?

Can depend on where you sit if it worth out

My season ticket is £480, if someone without a SC pays an extra £150 it is £33 a game

Is that a bad price??

It is a little unfair I would say but it was also unfair when i was watching shite everyweek and had a season card then, swings and roundabouts ;)

But if the club turned round to you and said your SC will go up by £150 next season, how would you feel?

It's a price rise by stealth and it's going to negatively affect how accessible City is to the next generation of fans.

100%...and making SS2 & 3 all City.

Relocate away fansdown to to ESL1/SSL1 round the corner flag.

Put City fans in the most atmospheric locations and away fans in the least.

Two Atmospheric home ends are better than one.

I'm at a loss to understand why people are not behind this.

won't happen unfortunately, plod won't move away fans

I'm in 232 and want to join in from the other end of the stadium, however I hear 114/115 singing one song, Kippax Corner Singing another, SS3 Singing another, 117/118 singing another.

It just sounds like a big mess of noise, and whilst many try to join in it's completely impossible at times.

This is why relocating singers to the North Stand is an absolute must
Agree mate

Very interesting discussion. The 1894 lads came across well and had a mild pop at the resident Bluemoon curmudgeons who aren’t as committed to improving the atmosphere as these lads are which is reflected in their negativity hostility to what the group are trying to do
Just being a neutral here but why is having a different opinion to the 1894 group classed as 'negative hostility'?
I thought one of the purposes of a forum was for all opinions to be seen/heard?

I do my own singing, shouting etc. don't need, ask for anyone else's permission or wait for others. Just get on with it and make some noise.
Surely we go to the games to watch the football and cheer the lads on not watch the other fans?
Or am I too old fashioned? :-)

P.S. I keep reading about people with Bovril and blankets...... I've never seen anyone with a blanket and even if they have surely that's allowed? It can get quite cold in the stands. We don't have heated seats!!! :-)

As for Bovril, some people like Bovril. (I don't as it happens.) :-) :-)

There's the rub! There's something about the acoustics of the stadium. It's weird. I believe you, because in SS Level 2, not infrequently, I've noticed that either we're singing a different song to the corner over in the East Stand, Level 1, or two beats ahead/behind them. As for SS Level 1, I can barely hear them at all.

Mind you, we're louder than the Bombonera, louder than the Marecana, louder than the San Siro, louder than the Kop and Stretford End combined once we get going… (the problem is to get us going…)

By the way, all singers will not relocate to the north. That's a dead certainty. I'd think about it, but not sure, at all. The important thing is to have a critical mass of singers in the north, properly and clearly grouped together (and not either bloody side of a hospitality section or, worse, a visiting supporters section). We've seen that a mere 2000 fans at away games can make a hell of a racket, and be clearly audible over the home crowd. Not just the Etihad. Everywhere. It's a question of unity.
They will be clearly audible at our end, and we'll be clearly audible at theirs. And who knows, the lower corner of the East Stand will be able to hear both loud and clear, and maybe we'll be singing from the same hymn sheet…
By the way I sometimes feel like a bit of a berk singing away at my age as if I believed I was still fourteen and on the Kippax. But I've always done it, and will till I drop. So I'll carry on being a bit of a berk.

From my personal view and those I have spoken to around me in 115, there is no desire to be anywhere but level 1. This is closely followed by the fact they are happy with their neighbours etc and don’t want to go through all the bother of moving.

There will no doubt be desire from those in other areas to get in a more atmosphere based area but if you already sit in 3rd tier etc then not as much of a change for you.

Everyone has a choice to make depending on their own circumstances

I tend to leave that to them and i will make my mine
