The best photo I could find of Roma fans was from a different game but it gets the visual point across that it is their end of Stadio Olimpico:

Whereas having just a few rows at the back of the new North Stand gives the opposite message, so I can well understand why 1894 are very sceptical about moving.

I think in a social media age where a well worked display could get millions of views that displays will become increasingly significant.

It wouldn't take much, where there is a big rivalry between clubs, for one fan group to take a dig at a rival and then the rival fans respond at the corresponding home game to start it up and then for it to span several seasons. In fact Rangers and Celtic fans are more or less at this point, playing off one another although their display messages go wider than just football.

In circumstances where displays are being widely shared on social media it's likely TV companies would latch on and start featuring them in their coverage. Fan groups who put on impressive displays would gain kudos and there would be added value for the respective clubs. Fan groups, though, need their own area for this and not just a few rows at the back of a stand.

And the ethos behind the displays isn't really that new given fans at cup finals at the old Wembley in the 70s and 80s made their own banners - it's just the displays now are on a bigger scale, more coordinated and better resourced

That process has already started in a way. Notice how noone was allowed to relocate INTO EL2 and CBL 2. At some point - pretty soon I reckon- it will be all Joe's and 9320.

This is what we've been saying for a couple of seasons now, getting really worried now that we'll soon be forced out one way or another. Either evicted because it has to be hospitality or priced out.

It’s never nice to be forced out of your seat. That happened to me in 206 a good few years ago and I moved to 93:20 / 209. In fairness to the Club they had Said about a decade ago (letter sent IIRC) that East Stand 2 and Colin Bell 2 were earmarked for premium / premier type seats.

If the Club makes these changes on the North corners of East Stand L2 and Colin Bell L2, hopefully that would mean those seats could access the bar at the bottom of the new / expanded North Stand Level 2, without having to
Make the seats on the bottom rows of North Stand Level 2 Joe’s or 93:20. This addressing one of 1894’s main concerns.

We moved upto 201 after being evicted when they decided level 1 was becoming an extended family stand, retired dad and lad didn't come into criteria so booted out of our excellent seats close to back. Feeling like the same is happening again. With all the Street parking diminishing it's getting close to calling time on my match going days

Yes feel for you. I was booted out of the North Stand behind the goal when it became the family stand, and out of 204 when it become Joe’s. If you moved to East Stand Level 2 since the letters were issued informing Blues that in years to come this would become a Premium area - and you were not informed of the likely changes. You should be as a minimum getting an apology and help relocating.
 
The only moves necessary are moving the away fans from SS2/3 down to ESL1 and making SS2/3 an all City area.

City fans in ESL1 & 2 will be along side or above away fans so can still enjoy the ‘banter’ whilst improving and intensifying the atmosphere.

There will be NO compromises to safety,*security, segregation or coach logistics & capex will be minimal.

Introducing these changes for the start of the 2025/26 season will be a great lead in to the rearrangements for the expanded NS.

* No away fans throwing missiles down on to City fans.

Get it done City. .....win win win !!

The equivalent to what is currently proposed with the North Stand at the San Siro would be having the Ultras in the green seats at the very top.

Having the ultras in the big central tier conveys the message that it is their end which wouldn't be the case if they were tucked away high up in the green seats.

Admittedly a lot shallower than SSL1. We don’t wear scarfs or hold them up. We only wave telescopic flags before the start of the match. I love the banners along the front of the stand.This would be my idea of a proper home end and safe standing singing section.
