Are currently at..... important word currently but £5.40 day ticket seems very good VFM instead of the £6 return journey....Can't speak for other areas of the country. The busses in Notts currently have a day cap of £7.60 and encourage people to buy day tickets which are currently £5.40.
I expect it will go up in March next year. How much? I couldn't tell you.Are currently at..... important word currently but £5.40 day ticket seems very good VFM instead of the £6 return journey....
It is a lot, especially if you’re struggling or on a lower income. To be fair, the increase isn’t a lot in the grand scheme of things but will add up over the year. And, yes, I do have sympathy for those struggling, for somebody to even have to use public transport, that has been neglected for years.
I go back to my own experiences of 3 years of use at approximately a fiver for a day return, going back 15 years. I thought it was a rip-off then but at £6 return, maximum, then I don’t think that’s bad.
As you mention the Tories, then one thing that did happen is that the minimum wage was raised from approx £9.00 per hour to nearly £11.50 over the last few years, giving people more money in their pocket. Still not great, and I’d like to see it much higher so that we don’t have to subsidise almost everything that those on a lower wage utilise.
Pay people a decent wage, that is my only angle.

I used different forms of transport dependent on working patterns, sometimes train, bus or car.It is a lot, especially if you’re struggling or on a lower income.
Can I ask why you were spending £5 for a day return, instead of just getting a weekly ticket. It was a few years ago now, but it was around £11 for a megarider in about 2011 when I used to get the bus regularly

Above inflation rise in minimum wage. There needs to be "something" in tomorrow's budget for working people.
Life as a single working person (particularly if young) is getting horrendous. There's little way out of not living with parents, and mental health issues (especially for young men, who seem to have been marginalised and even openly mocked in recent years) needs to be addressed.
Here's hoping, but I understand it's a long haul.
That's horrendous. Which area is that? These are the weekly prices for a bus+ tram ticket. They vary of course depending how many zones you travel on.
7-day Bee AnyBus + Tram for adults costs:
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 1 = £24.80
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 2 =£24.80
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 3 = £24.80
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 4 = £24.80
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 1-2 = £30.30
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 2-3 = £28.40
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 3-4 = £28.40
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 1-3 = £36.40
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 2-4 = £32.50
7-day Bee AnyBus+Tram Zone 1-4 = £41.00
Find your tram zone.
