So, just thinking about tomorrow night and after, and who to watch/listen/follow the election with?
Any network recommendations or suggestions?

Kicking off Election Day Eve festivities…

Reply to this post with your prediction of the final Harris and Trump vote (rounded) shares in the battleground states.

My prediction:

State - Harris % - Trump %
Arizona - 49 - 50 (Trump)
Georgia - 50 - 49 (Harris)
Michigan - 50 - 49 (Harris)
Nevada - 49 - 50 (Trump takes the EC votes)
North Carolina - 48 - 50 (Trump)
Pennsylvania - 50 - 48 (Harris)
Wisconsin - 50 - 48 (Harris)

Electoral College Outcome:
Democrats - 286
MAGA - 252

Kamala Harris wins the election.

I almost don’t want to tempt fate but I’ve been reading too much polling data to not at least try and guess…

State - Harris % - Trump %
Arizona - 49 - 50 (Trump +1)
Georgia - 51 - 48 (Harris +3)
Michigan - 53 - 47 (Harris +6)
Nevada - 51 - 49 (Harris +2)
North Carolina - 46 - 52 (Trump + 6)
Pennsylvania - 54 - 46 (Harris +8)
Wisconsin - 52 - 48 (Harris +4)

Electoral College Outcome:
Democrats - 292
MAGA - 246

I basically think the rust belt is going to end up not being as close as people think - particularly PA. And North Carolina always surprises me with how red it is. My lowest confidence is in Georgia, really can’t tell for the life of me what’s going on there.

Even more optimistic than me, I like it!

If US democracy comes down to a popularity contest between Taylor Swift and Elon Musk then that is not great, even if it gets the result you want.
Yeah, but it doesn't come down to that, does it?

It's an inane straw man, unless you have some data that says the majority of those voting for Harris or Trump say "it's because Taylor/Elon told me to."

But, sure, another reed to beat stupid Americans with, why not?

It wasn't my idea that Taylor swift would be the democrats secret weapon, ask the poster that posted it.

Better than it being down to people like the bloke on the news tonight who absolutely detests Trump but will vote for him anyway because Socialism.
Yes, in the short term it's fine, but I worry that we are diluting the significance of voting for governments to the same trivial level as a TV phone in vote like (fucking) strictly or something of that ilk.

No! I’m guessing at EC, but educated guess at state results. I could do a tot up and edit tomorrow if I have time. Don’t put any money on my predictions.

No need! If Harris wins all the swing states she’ll be on 319. Which puts Trump on 219.

This information is taking up space in my brain that could probably be used for more practical things.

No, you’d hope it doesn’t come down to that, but to be fair to MSC, I don’t believe he’s trying to make out that all Americans are stupid. At least that’s not what I got from it.
I think he’s showing concern that the campaigning is more about celebrity endorsement. I looked at the SNL clip from Harris the other night and thought to myself, is this what politics has become. Not only in America, but you certainly seem to be leading the way.

I know I write, half in jest in here, chiefly because I can’t believe, either the sincerity of some posters in what they defend, or what they profess to believe.
But really, I suppose we’ll find out soon enough, whether this propaganda, fake news media, celebrity endorsement, sloganised non detail specific agenda works or not.
It certainly seems to be something one side relies on wholely, but the other seems to be dabbling in, if you can’t beat them join them.

You know where my allegiances lie in this one, but truly the whole campaign has been a story state of affairs if this is the new normal.

There are reports of how effective the Democratic effort on the ground is. Tens of thousands of doors have been knocked on and the Democratic vote is coming out to play.
Moreover there is poll evidence that late deciders are heavily favouring Harris. Trump is indeed talking himself to defeat.
Keep it up. Vote Blue.
Just seen a news report about that.

Some bloke being interviewed who felt he couldn't just vote against him but had to canvass to persuade others.
