So where do we play him because he's not a full back
He's performed better playing full back but I don't think he shouldn't be a starter in any position. Utility squad player at best.

With injuries and the way they've planned the squad means he's going to get a lot of minutes and more likely than not start games.

He simply MUST add more creativity or goals to his game in some way with all the midfield time he gets.

If he doesnt, there simply isnt a point to developing him.

Which is what we should be doing, he isnt suppose to be a starter, Pep is forcing him to be.

Unfortunate timing for him that the team as a whole has dramatically declined and he’s being used as one of the scapegoats.
Another perspective would be that he came into a top side and rode on the coattails of others. Now the rest of the side isn’t good enough to carry him, he is showing exactly what he is…bang average.

Haven't brought it up because he's academy player and you root for them. He has attributes, technical quality and tactical intelligence. But have always felt he's too small and weak for the prem. Today was brutal on that regard, shoved off the ball over and over and over again. Hot take but would actually sell in the summer.

20 years old, so no longer a teenager, and he has declined in the last 2,5 years, if anything.

Physically so weak, slow, poor defensively, doesn't contribute offensively. People need to stop looking at him through their academy-tainted glasses because the academy has better players than him that are not getting their chances.

His win-loss ratio must be the worst in our team. Extremely overhyped, and he only ever looked half decent in games we dominated. He has a cult of followers here, mind, that are his knights in shiny armour ready to defend him no matter what, though.

Feelings can really cloud judgement, and unfortunately that seems to be the reality with him. Today, it hit hard. He has now been completely exposed both at RB and in the middle.

Very harsh to call a 19 year old bang average. I can get behind criticising the senior players, the players who should be leading by example. Rico has done well since coming into the team, although the past 6 weeks he’s been just as bad as anyone else.
