VVD has the odd injury other than that bad one, Salah is never injured, amazingly. Yet we seem to have players who spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch.
The likes of Stones/Ake/KDB/Kova are notoriously injured. You can’t have such a small squad when so many of them are injury prone. They are not young players anymore.

Arsenal should win it but there manager and his neanderthal tactics, targeted Rodri and put him out for the season in our match, now chasing a manager that hasn’t spent anything like what he has, that game at the Etihad has probably backfired for Arteta in a strange way.
We need a John Stones special at Anfield, preferably a winning goal and Liverpool will have a similar run like Arsenal had.

I reckon if we don't get a trophy this season Odegaard may wish to move. Saka probably not as he's a boyhood Arsenal fan. It seems almost certain Saliba is off in the summer as well as Real Madrid have done their usual destabilisation behind the scenes - again all sorted by actually winning a trophy!
How can an Arsenal fan get it so wrong. There is next to no chance Odegaard will leave Arsenal in the short or medium term future, and zero chance he will leave this summer window. Odegaard is signed to 2028 & is the club captain and has a strong bond with Arteta. Saliba is not nailed on to stay, however, to say he is nailed on to leave is beyond naive as the transfer fee we will ask will be over 100m pounds. I would actually weigh more chance Saliba extends at Arsenal in the next 12 months relative to a move to Madrid.

I cannot believe if this Slot comes in with his Eredivisie experience and in debut season he delivers a PL title with only one incoming transfer of Chiesa who may not even play 50 minutes for them before shipped back to Juventus maybe in January. especially if he delivers the title with something like a comfortable 8+ points lead in the end.

this is such a nonsense compared how hard we had to fight and do it in very close run ins often needing to win last X game to clinch it.

we need to do something about it. this is also a huge egg on Arteta's face as well (also on Klopp's) if Slot takes over and gets a much better tune of the same squad that finished 3rd last season. its not like they spent big on crucial positions and strengthened where they needed like number 6 and a new LB.

Klopp delivered Liverpool their first ever premier league title, qualified for 3 champions league finals winning one. Won every domestic cup as well as the world club championship. Not to mention accumulating 97 points but unfortunately missing out on the title by one point against what was unfortunately for us the best team and manager in premier league history.

You can say many things about the man and might not like him but to say he would have egg on his face is a bit disrespectful. He did a phenomenal job in his time as Liverpool manager.

Arteta how ever I completely agree. He’s been there 5 years and won 1 FA cup with another managers squad. Since that achievement he has spent 100s of millions of dollars and Arsenal haven’t even qualified for a cup final in that time.

There is only one major loser in all of this if Slot leads Liverpool to the title and that is Arteta

The point being made was about Klopp's first season, not his complete record over 8 seasons. What did he achieve in his first season?

I said 'may' wish to move. At the end of the day players want to win trophies and you can't say there's zero chance. Heck, Edu was onto a good thing and has just fucked off to join Marinakis so nothing is guaranteed and it's a short career.

Arteta has transformed the club. It wasn't long ago that we were 'weak' Arsenal, playing pretty patterns but getting our backsides handed to us regularly at Anfield and the Etihad. Whether he wins the league or not he's taken us into the CL and given us 2 title bids so far. There's plenty of teams who have spent a bunch and are worse off - United for one.

I agree with every word of this.

Pep has a bad season 1/4 or 1/5. This is one of those seasons, and Arsenal are still a point behind us.

I don't think Pep or Klopp have to worry about their legacy one bit. Arteta has done fuck all and he's about to let his best chance go begging. No doubt in my mind (115 permitting) that Pep will be backed big time and will be back on it for the next two seasons.

That’s not how I interpreted it. It appeared to be a pop at Klopp & Artetas entire tenures.

Klopp in his first season made two cup finals one of which was against City which unfortunately he lost. He also lost to Sevilla in the Europa league final however there is no shame in losing to Unai Emery as in that competition he is a different beast and winning finals is a formality. Unless he is managing Arsenal of course

Absolutely this.

If in the one year City slip up in the title race enough for someone else to win it, a new manager that hasn't managed at this level before comes in and takes a team with a few ageing players and one new squad signing to the top, Arteta and Arsenal go from this 'almost great bunch of plucky underdogs that can't get over the line', to well and truly having shat the bed.

Still an if though, quite a lot left to play out, for everyone involved.

Solid commitment to the role, that.

He’s made you competitive again but is that how far the level of requirement has fallen at arsenal one of the biggest clubs in world football? You celebrate victories over Liverpool & City as though they are huge achievements. You do realise your supposedly inferior neighbours Tottenham have beaten both of those teams within the last season and have carried on less?

You can knock United all you want but Ten Haag has two trophies to his CV and at the end of the day that is what will be remembered not pushing a team in a title race or getting draws away at Anfield or the Etihad

Klopp is the best manager Pep has ever faced. This isn't about likability but about managerial pedigree. To win 6 league titles out of 7 when Klopp was around speaks to just how good Pep has been. What's more, the games we played against them were honest. Both teams went hell for leather, and I reckon our 2-1 win in January 2019 is the best standard of football I've ever seen live. Contrast that with the disgraceful Arteta tactics on his last two visits to the Etihad. For me, Arteta has everything to prove. The other two definitely do not.
