when kovacic went down i thought "oh we are screwed" although i wasnt expecting this run of games to go that bad. He was doing a pretty good job in rodri's absence tbh, that leave us with stones as cover but the man is always out

Needs to stop pointing out how much he's won in the past and just start actually winning again.

I think the long term (next season and beyond) is not a particularly difficult fix. We need four players across the next two windows. Two energetic midfielders, a creative player and a RB. Maybe 5 with a backup striker. I think Gundo, KDB and Walker will leave in the summer which will make way for the new players.

I don’t think we need any wholesale changes to our defence and I’d expect Doku and Savinho to improve their output by the end of the season.

In the short term there’s four issues that have become crystal clear over the last month or so. We don’t create much, we waste the clear cut chances that we do have, individual mistakes at the back and being vulnerable to the long ball over the top.

The individual mistakes will naturally stop and our forwards will eventually find form. It’s Pep finding a way to make us more creative and preventing the long ball over the top which has to be the priority.

All the other top PL sides have had ‘off seasons’ in recent times where they have dropped out of the CL. If we can make the top 4 it will represent a good season IMO.

Agree with that, possibly a keeper too, we will probably lose 1.

He’s coached all of the flair out of Foden, Bernardo and Grealish etc, so nobody can make something out of nothing when the machine malfunctions.

The available players should be able to match any other 11 in the league - even with the injuries. Compromise and formulate a plan that involves keeping the £200m worth of available defenders tight and getting the ball forward quickly to the best #9 in world football via the reigning player of the year.
Coached all the flair out of Foden, did you not watch Phil last season?

Coached all the flair out of Foden?

Or coached a load of flair into a centre half?

Can’t always win? We’ve lost 7 out of 8. Conceded more goals in that time than any team in europe, the fuck are you talking about.
We’ve lost 6 out of 7.

And he’s right. Sometimes teams win games, go on winning streaks, win trophies and other times those same teams do the opposite.

Wow. This level of stupidity is funny.

Have you ever heard about context? In this case, the context of winning 6 from the last 7 titles, 4 in a row, 26 games unbeaten in Europe, aging players, injuries, etc.?

It's impossible to avoid serious problems in that context. Unless you are a nobody on the net who knows best.
