Bruno Guimaraes

Does anyone who keeps going on about this fucker actually watch Newcastle? He does fuck all but get booked every week.
New shiny toy syndrome.

For some, it's getting that bad that ANYONE will do. I saw the striker from Celtic get a mention earlier as well, we're back to late summer window stages of desperation on here already and the January window isn't even open yet!

think many are underestimating how good Bruno can be for us he’s one of the most well- rounded midfielders out there and prem proven. Can also play in defensive midfield or higher up which would be good for us when Rodri returns. Not sure zubimendi would be great in January as will need time to settle to the country and the football also not sure he works with Rodri when he comes back in the side. For Spain they rarely start together

Clearly does more than that for them, though, doesn't he?

Since he started being played in DM for Newcastle he's contributed to about 30 goals in 100 Premier League games. We miss Rodri's defensive qualities obviously, but his ability further up the pitch as something as a box-to-box midfielder is seriously underrated.

Bruno's fast, he's aggressive and dynamic, tough, energetic, doesn't shirk a tackle, and knows where the net is. Would be an ideal box-to-box type when Rodri's back as well and needs legs next to him. He's also comfortable slotting into the full DM position to allow Rodri chance to rest.

Plus, the Geordies love him. It's always a good sign when a transfer target of ours is still being celebrated and adored by the club he's coming from. I held out hope that Ake would come good simply because of how highly rated he was by Bournemouth fans, who still love him to this day.

Newcastle don't have to sell in January, but they're going to have to sell before they buy, and considering how they've stagnated in the last 12 months they'll need to regenerate the team in other areas pronto. I think we should slap £90m-£100m on the table and see what they do.

I appreciate the lengthy reply, my post was slightly hyperbolic he does have an impact for the Geordies no doubt, but I really don't see a 90-100 million player there, and we're not gonna get him without a protracted transfer saga as even if Newcastle need to sell they don't need to sell cheaply. If they absolutely have to lose a star I reckon they would sell Gordon to the dippers first as they have Harvey Barnes as a ready made replacement.

Just looked at the Newcastle board, the consensus is he’s a stopgap 6 and is better as an 8

The reakon we’d get him for anything above £80m

Sounds ideal to me

Was also reading their boards as I’m not personally convinced by him tbh.

Seems some say he lacks athleticism which is a big red flag for me.

I think we can get better across Europe for half the price

This seems to be driven by Pep. Txiki would have moved on and interest before Viana was announced.

Back Pep.
