Hes too passive on the wings. Wasted out there. Until they're regularly giving him minutes at attacking mid and letting him actually run as playmaker, we're going to keep going in circles on this.

He may still not work out, but at least he's not working out in his actual position.

Which sort of proves the point. Starts in the middle, moved to the left, dropped for the next game. Comes on and his only contribution is a shit corner that they scored from very shortly afterwards. Pathetic contribution from him. He has been dreadful this season.

The only game we've won in ages, the only game we actually looked a bit like our usual selves, was the one he played in the middle. I think if he's got a future here (and that's becoming quite a big "if" at the moment), it's in that role. And playing Gundo and Kev into the ground just isn't fucking working. So if Jack's even semi fit, put him in the middle.

We will be lucky to get 25 million for him now, villa certainly won't want him back that's for sure.

We're stuck with him I feel, I can't see anyone paying any significant transfer fee that we'd want to recoup, let alone his extortionate wages.

I really hope he can get his sharpness back and improve as a central midfield player, he could then be a good squad option for his last 2-3 years of his contract. But as a winger/forward, it just ain't ever gonna happen.

That was a shocking cameo yesterday.
Taking crap corners has nothing to do with your best position.
A whole year without an assist or goal has nothing to do with your position.
There was nothing about him playing a more central role a season and a half ago.
When he produced the goods regularly in the treble season.
Getting back to something like that form on the left is what is needed.

Ironic thing is the ball carrying creative central midfielder he was at Villa is exactly what we are crying out for now, not saying he can be that here , but what we bought isnt what we have now and some of that has to be down to the coaching he has received.
