PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

No wonder Bournemouth didn’t vote with City.

Another Yank owner.

Las Vegas-based businessman Bill Foley replaces Bournemouth owner Maxim Demin to become the latest American to invest in English football

For comparison, only four PL clubs (Brighton, Manchester City, Bournemouth, and Brentford) realized a pre-tax profit in 2022/23, with one (Bournemouth) relying on sizeable exceptional other operating income from extinguishment of a shareholder loan.

Fuck them.

Let’s hope we get no relegation and every club with a tiny dream of competing gets shafted. It’s the American way.

Speculation is to be expected considering we haven't just "Fell off" we appear to be in a nose dive we can't get out of and with the quality we have on the pitch even with the injuries we have had we have been appalling.

I don't believe it's because of the charges although IF (And it isn't) it was at least it would give fans some comfort.

Not sure that's much comfort. I'd rather have Ake and Akanji back and fit, and see what happens, than find out that they're worried because they've heard bad news about the charges :)

My stream showed Khaldoon and scruffy Jim having a chat and pretending to like each other before kick off.

Khaldoon looked chilled as fuck and not like a man shitting his knickers.
They've known each other for quite some time, not just from the petrochemicals industry, but INEOS have a formula one team. And Khaldoon has a grand prix.

I think board didn't want to invest in the team after City won a treble due to these charges. They want to see the verdict before investing money again. That's why two latest season it has been big downgrade in the squad (Laporte, Mahrez, Alvarez out) without signing proper replacements.
The summer we sold Laporte, we signed Gvardiol, the following summer we sold, Mahrez, we signed Doku, this summer we sold Alvarez and signed Savinho. Whether or not you agree the outgoings and incomings were the correct decisions, the fact is the club replaced those players you listed.

The reason we’re not spunking money like we used to is because like everybody else we’re trying to comply with the bollocks PSR rules.

If the players had heard the case is going to go badly, they'd have been straight onto their agents sounding out other clubs and the other clubs would have told journalists

They don't know anything

thought Michael J Jordan (actor) was financing them?

Lucky bastard. All i had was a Scalextric
All you had was a Scalextric? You lucky, lucky bar-steward! Growing up in Hulme in the late 50s/early60s, I used to dream of waking up on Christmas Day to the gift of a Scalextric under the tree.. never even got a sniff!

As 'Citi-Leaks' says, Khaldoon and Ratcliffe go back quite a way in business. Though I can't stand Ratcliffe (and not just because he's bought into the Red Filth), yet I think some of the sightings we've had of him with Khaldoon and others at our club plus the statements he's made, all combine to suggest positive vibes regarding the outcome for us with the 'PL/115'.

Of course, I still don't trust the f**ker and the rest of the Red Cartel but there does seem to be a change in tone from Ratcliffe?

If he knows anything it will have come from Berrada telling him about the irrefutable evidence that our club still insist will prove we did nothing wrong

I’ve heard of reading palms, reading tea leaves and cards but I’ve never before heard of reading ones piss……..

I was listening to a podcast recently and Ian Cheeseman said he’d heard whispers but can’t comment until reports are verified,

…it sounds to me like this is related to the charges, I would imagine that the players have heard things too and wonder if this is related to our drop (off the nearest cliff) in form??

I have to agree. I think it might be naïve of us to not think that it has something to do with just burnout and player injuries. But who knows, I could be terribly wrong, and I hope that I am!
