United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

That's it in a nutshell. The group peaked in the treble season and did superbly well to retain the title and were unlucky against Madrid. Don't forget that all our titles except the 100 points one we have been pushed hard all the way, first by Liverpool, then Arsenal. It's been exhausting mentally and physically. The signs were there last season that we needed a refresh, especially in the cup final. Sure we've been battered by injuries but some players have hit a brick wall now and there's no coming back.
Nailed it.

We're all starting to accept this now. Even 'happy clappers' like me.

It's been a fantastic ride with this squad. I'm sure whilst the players have been given 2 days off Pep, Txixi, and Viana are unofficially planning for Peps City 2.0.

Already identified who's going and who's coming in.

Next summer maybe another one of those where we see 4 or 5 young and hungry players coming in to start the cycle again.

We've seen a golden era we may never see again. Let's not become redshirt cunts and demand the same levels we've witnessed. Some of us have been patient for 20,30,40 years. I'm sure we can afford a couple of years of typical city being back and support the transition.

I think we’ve all seen it coming, just shocked at how quickly it took hold. However, I did think there’s a comeback, just not big enough to challenge for top spot. More of a steadying, if you will.

When did that happen?
He's seen the future.

We're going to be found guilty and start next season in league 2. But Pep fancies another challenge and we go down into the national league of our own accord so he can win the FA Vase trophy to go with the Papa John's.

It's been just two months of bad results. You talk like it's been many seasons.
But the signs were there last season if you opened your eyes.
Ahead three times at Chelsea but only drew, ahead twice v Spurs but only drew, two up v Palace with fifteen minutes remaining but only drew.
And lots of other games where we defended losing by coming up with excuses such as Wolves where the scorer should have been sent off. Wolves were fairly poor last season and we should have been capable of getting a point, or even winning, against eleven men.

Quick question for if we finish below 4th: Do we want the domestic cups to go to teams in the top four to give us a place in either of the Thursday leagues meaning lots of new opponents, or would a bit of time off be preferable?
We know top players want the CL, but would lower level European football be any kind of a draw?

We have attracted the likes of Yaya Toure, Vincent Kompany, Mario Balotelli, David Silva without Champions League football although we probably have to pay over the odds with us missing out. But any player would see our successes both domestically and in Europe and wouldn't be too bothered if we did miss out for a season. Chelsea had no trouble in attracting players without being in the Champions League.

Morning blues how we feeling?

We all ready for the part time red wankers to act like they're the biggest fans in the world?

They like football again don't they, this after cry arsing that they hate football because they're shite.

Just remember these bellends will never see 4 in a row, they'll never experience the years they've had under taggart.

Take our medicine, chest out and up the fuckin blues.
Pissed off with yesterday, pissed off with Juventus but really, over it and moved on.

What I've found amazing is the amount of Rags surfacing on my local FB Group.

Jesus Christ, it's as if they've just completed a treble when in reality they beat an horrendously out of form City 2-1 with 2 late goals.

Everyone knows the Dippers are the most cultist with no self awareness set of fans around.

The Rags, Jesus. By an absolute million miles they are the most fickle set of fans in the world.

You can bet all those Salford tickets will be snapped up by Rags who have conveniently ditched FCUM, returned the green and white to the back of the wardrobe and gone FKW in red.

What a fanbase, pathetic!

If we can’t get in the CL, I want to win the Europa cup or the conference league. The 2026 finals are in istanbul and Leipzig

Forget the Sundays.. half our matches are on Sundays anyway

The thing is , to enable a player to develop they need to play. Who would have thought Delap would be having the season he is after last year. It's fine doing it in hindsight but not so easy in real life
Hindsight or not Pep has allowed some fantastic talent to leave. He doesn’t trust kids and I suppose his trophy haul proves him correct. What we would give for Palmer, Lavia & Rogers options in midfield now

Buy back clause springs to mind if the player leaving agrees.

No. Not in our case.
