People easily forget that in that title deciding match against Tottenham last year, Doku dismantled Pedro Porro on the break and caused him to make a penalty, in the moments when City was pinned down. Together with Ortega's save it sealed the title, so he should get credit for that at least.

Yesterday he knocked it past a defender in the penalty area and then proceeded to pass it to the only space void of our attackers, despite being about six yards away from them. Sums him up as a player.

Near post wasn’t an option, not his fault Frank Lampard no longer plays for us. Frank would’ve lapped that one up

That was a decent cutback. Just us being us we had nobody arriving from midfield. It wasn’t like there was an obvious pick out on the 6 yard box they had everyone back. Like most wingers going at full pelt it’s about putting it into a decent area and he did on that occasion.

Actually he put a perfect ball in for a late arriving midfielder to smash it in, all are other players were marked in the box, even a ball across would’ve got nowhere,I’m one of his biggest critics but that ball was perfect, unfortunately our ageing midfield was half way up the pitch still trying to get forward.

Nobody is queuing up for goals these days. Who else even puts balls into the box?

I noticed that about JD that he very often crosses the ball in the right area, where there should be a player and where you expect to be a player, but for some reason there isn't. I think last season Foden and Alvarez had a good anticipation about where the ball would arrive and therefore had a good connection with him. KVB has it too, but at this point they don't play together often enough (Kevin is injured, Doku gets rotated) for this to flourish to the full extent. But the biggest issue is the lack of connection with Haaland. I was talking about this a year ago already as a potential problem but people here were nah. Now people realize it. Its understandable that part of his role is to provide a dummy, but then you need someone else to use it.

This player might be a major reason Haaland wants to leave early. So many opportunities to contribute to build up play, press, or play a splitting pass but instead just decides to run into a brick wall.

May be a controversial view on here but Im afraid Ive never rated him
Its as controversial of a view as being "anti-woke". You think you're some kind of rebel and dissident, but you're actually the majority.

To be honest it seems he went through fast tracked Grealishization. Completely neutered and quickly losing his own creative instincts and daring which was one of his best qualities. Despite early projections that Pep will help him grow as a player, he actually stifled him through trying to fit him to this system for which he is doesn't look like he is a good fit.

Also if you go back to the very first post of this thread. I think he bulked up quite unnecessarily over the summer and this made him too heavy, costing him not only further stamina which was already his weak point, but also quickness which was his major strength.

Look at how quick he was last year against the same team from today

Today he could hardly get past anyone and looks more massive and hes slower than last season.
