I’d get it more if Doku and Savinho were youngsters learning their trade behind established wingers.

Relying on two youngsters will always mean the team will be inconsistent.

25? I would accept right now that number as a combined output from Savinho, Grealish, Doku in PL. fucking hell I would sign it now if someone offers 15 G+A combined from them. they are on something like 2 goals, 5 assists and its half of the season behind us. 3 of them together on 2+5 is like 2-3 decent rounds for Salah.

It will be but I don’t think age can always be used as a mask for poor performances.

He’s the same age as Foden was in the treble winning year and I know Foden at 22 was surrounded by much better players or better versions of the same team mates but I just can’t see him ever getting to that level in 2-3 years time if the situation around him improves. Savinho I can.

I had high hopes for Doku and he offered a more attacking style than Grealish, however he needs to mature quickly to improve. It's not helping that the entire team are struggling right now, so it's hardly surprising he's trying hard but without any end product. He's a young lad running around and trying to take on one too many defenders.

In a winning team he would probably be a great sub to throw against tired legs. In a team with our current form he probably just adds to the fan frustration.

Doku has the same issues haaland has, we don't play to their strengths.

Get the ball to him quickly to isolate his man and he'll make something happen enough to be impactful, the problem is we move the ball so slowly that we give it him when they've got everybody in shape, they're doubling up on him and we are saying there you go, take on 3 men to get yourself into a scoring or creating position or pick out a cross to the one guy in the box who is being marked by another 3 men. It's not a gameplan.


Doku is always going to be hit or miss, its that unpredictability that makes him an asset but he obviously needs to develop and become significantly more hit than miss.

Put him or some of our other players in a setup that suits them and they'll perform much better.

but why Txiki signs all these squad players while we lose proper crucial players like Mahrez, Alvarez and other just age badly and reach end of their top flight career like Walker, KDB, Gundo etc.

Pep used to have wingers like Henry, Messi, Pedro, Ribery, Robben, Sane, Sterling (at his top level), Mahrez, I wonder if he sees in Doku reaching similar level. but the problems are big, both offensively and defensively for Doku. he needs to be immense going forward almost like Saka or Salah to be able not to work his ass off defensively but then Saka is actually putting a shift in at the Euros he often tracked back to fullback position well enough.

guess Doku wouldnt play much if the alternative was not Grealish who just gave up on end product.
Pep had Henry, Eto, (young) Messi front three at one point. the level of technical ability, pressing, killer instinct wow.

he needs to be helped in the transfer window and not held back.
