But we have young players in the team who are getting battered , throwing teenagers into the games you listed is stupid imo . The players we have have to get us out of this funk , the youngers ones we have and i include thor in that know what they have to do and are trying .teenagers with no experience of playing in the first team are not going to help, they might have the legs to run but then what

I get people are upset but please be rational
Rational? What, as in placing one’s faith in the same game plan, week after week after week, even though the players, demonstrably, do not have the attributes (the chief of which is ‘legs’) to make it work?

Because Pep doesn't think he's good enough, now that doesn't mean Pep is right.
Not for certain no, but it the most likely thing isn’t it. I’d guess at about 90% chance Pep Guardiola best coach in the world that works with him and kept him with the squad right maybe 10% chance a poster sat on his keyboard on a football forum right.Thats being generous.
Of course we can all have different opinions, just be self aware enough to know Guardiola is most likely the right one.

We have young players with legs though , but we have stopped pressing from the front and winning the ball back , nobody is moving into dangerous positions and kev and gundy are not there to put the great balls in to them, then defenders are making individual mistakes and the attackers arent scoring goals . They are injured and burnt out , i dont get why there is a lack of understanding of that . I agree the drop off is steep and alarming but some posters seem to think we were on for number five which is ridiculous

What do we blues have to do , our job is to keep the faith that it will get sorted when we clear the injury list and our errant captain starts leading if he ever did . Losing our minds is not going to help

He doesn't get picked though while the other 3 do. Why do you imagine that is?

I think Pep treats academy players different to players we buy. Doku, Savinho, Torres, Alvarez and Gvardiol all went straight into the team, but the likes of Foden, Palmer and Bobb had to play occasional minutes here and there (usually out of position). If we’d signed Cole Palmer in the summer of 2022 he would have played loads of minutes in 22/23, same with Bobb last season and McAtee this season. He clearly thinks academy players are happy to stick around and make up the numbers.

You still here begging for us to sack pep, you only turned up these last couple of weeks to tell us we should sack him as it suits you if we did , fuck off telling us what we need when you have selfish intentions
I know its pointless to respond to somebody who repeatedly says 'fuck off' to everything you say, but I find it hilarious that you think I believe I have that kind of influence where my opinion on the topic matters to the point that I would conceal my agenda so as to appear as if I want Pep out because that is the logical move, but in fact what I'm actually doing is trying to manipulate some powers at be (on a freaking football forum) to fire Pep, so that Man City becomes less of a rival to Real Madrid. A part of me is honored that you see me as such a threat, but I would honestly have to be some kind of megalomaniac supervillain psychopath to come up with such a devious scheme.

So I suggest you get a grip of reality. People are not out to get you. Fans of other clubs are not secret agents. This is not a life or death matter to me. You're curious about my motivations? Believe it or not, I just enjoy the game, I like to think in a problem solving way, and enjoy debating in an argumentative fashion. Doku is my favorite player, but I like several other City players, so I want to see them succeed. Real Madrid is my favorite club, but thats the extent of it. I'm not its representative, I don't think it has some culture that makes it special, and I don't go out of my way to do its bidding. Relax.

Not much of a judge if Doku is your favourite player.

In the context of influence, maybe if Man City fans as a collective gave Doku a bit more love, the way a plethora of footballing experts from managers to players give him, he would be more buoyant and confident and would have more impact. Just a thought.

I just can't believe that our academy has produced the perfect replacement for every single position we need right now and we just completely squandered every single one. The buyback policy has been a joke.
Right back? Frimpong and porro, succeeding somewhere else.
DM? Lavia. Succeeding somewhere else.
Striker? Delap. Succeeding somewhere else.
KDB replacement? Palmer. Succeeding somewhere else.
Number 8? Rogers. Succeeding somewhere else.

Maybe. What Im certain is ridiculous is how much hostility there is among you lot toward a talented youngster that contributed plenty to the 23/24 Premier league title.
There is very little hostility, if any at all.
With the exception of one or two players, most are playing well below what they are capable of.
When a player is doing well, he receives the credit and when he is not playing well , there can be criticism.
Foden, Gvardiol, Ederson, Walker, Haaland and Gundogan have been getting a lot more stick.
I am guessing you're from Belgium and maybe taking things a little more personally because it is Doku but everyone wants to see him do well.
We genuinely don't care where our players come from but expect them to put in a shift and play to their capabilities.
Along with some ķother City players, Doku is not doing this consistently.
You shouldn't see this as a personal insult to Doku but a response to our current situation.
His attempt to control the ball yesterday led to a goal for Everton.
He wasn't the only culprit.
His " hands in the air" when he loses a tackle and failure to track back isn’t helping him

He may end up being one of our greats and hopefully he will

You’ll have posters calling you “negative” for point this out. Even if it is true.

Fair enough, I agree with most of what you said. I was born in Antwerp and I followed him since a teenager, so maybe it does seem to me like people are being too unfair when its just criticism for his performances. It just feels like that for the others, its 'they are in a slump' or 'not used properly' while for Jeremy its 'he lacks talent, always have and always will' which I strongly disagree with.

Either way not the Doku thread, so I will end it here. Appreciate the good will!

Advocating bringing in the odd youngster occasionally (and that’s all I’m advocating, not a wholesale transplant from the Academy) to give a frazzled senior pro a much needed rest now and then, is in no way “losing anyone’s mind”. It would almost literally be impossible for us to fare any worse than 1 win in 13 games.
I agree that our pressing is abysmal, but the reason it’s abysmal is that we’re asking players whose legs are shot, to do it. It takes just one weak link to undermine a press completely and be it due to age, a total lack of pace and/or muscle, or combination thereof, our midfield comprises almost entirely of said weak links. Kovacic, Bernie, Rico, Gunders, Kev and even Jack (not to mention the big man up top). It’s a who’s who of players completely unsuited for the task, albeit that the half-arsed attitude of one or two of them isn’t helping either.
For the record I don’t think McAtee or Reilly are likely to pull up any trees - they’re a long way from being among the best Academy graduates we’ve ever produced - but there’ve been times recently when Gundogan and Lewis in particular have looked like a pair of 40 a day pensioners on mobility scooters, each with an oxygen tube taped up one nostril. It cannot continue or we will end up (in all seriousness) in a situation whereby a spiteful 10 point deduction over Fordham and Mancini, might see us in a relegation tussle - any appeal notwithstanding.
Pep clearly disagrees with me though, so there’s that……!

Lewis? Don’t think Bobb would be waiting either but for a broken ankle.
