We over paid for grealish, whilst I do agree we won't over pay for the sake of it. It's not impossible to find a player good enough to sign in January, you try and see.
 
Clear out needed this summer

Ederson, Carson
Walker, Stones, Ake
Silva, Gundo, KDB, Phillips, Nunez, Mcatee

Some of this clear out should have begun last summer but here we are with an ageing squad filled with injuries which is apparent for all to see.

Agree. If you cant see the talent and potential this lad has then maybe footballs not for you. He’s still really young for a player. Hes going to be mustard.

Penny pinching on elite players is part of the reason we are in this mess.

Spot on. Time to spend. We need at least 3 top class players in the next 2 windows. Musiala / wiertz type.

why carson? guy brings more positives than negatives, what do we gain by getting rid?

I'm sure he had treatment at the end of the Cup game vs Spurs and he's been overplayed since. Think he recently said he's absolutely knackered, which is unsurprising as he's asked to do a lot. I think he's superb, just having a few brainfarts due to fatigue
 
If Ederson goes, who is the favorite replacement and would we sign a new number one? Seen the Juve goalie mentioned and more links to Diogo Costa?

Incredible player world class always was and if we had peak Fernandinho now this season even in Rodri's absence, then we'd still be challenging and maybe even top that's how much of an impact he'd have even on this team.

A truly great player he was and I never thought we'd have anyone nearly as good to replace him but we're blessed, we found Rodri but I'd kill for both Fernandinho at his peak and a fit Rodri in the very same team it wouldn't be too defensive either.

Those two alone playing every week would help any team even a mid to lower end Prem team challenge if not win things, we've been truly blessed to have amazing protection from both Fernandinho and Rodri as world class defensive midfielders, both probably at times could've played as box to box attacking midfielders very effectively if asked in the absence of others.

When we lose Rodri unless we find another great of their generation we'll realise just how fortunate we've been with the massive drop off in quality, same with Walker he's clearly past it now but after having both him and Zabaleta it's possibly going to be another massive drop off there too.

The only thing that might cushion the blow at right back is the reality of Walker's incredible sudden decline, we sadly should've been more prepared for this eventually though at his age as time waits for no man.

be higher wage than that i expect getting Simaken alone out of Saudi will be 250. (rumoured 235 now)

I feel like we need someone a bit more athletic. I feel as though we would be able to play as the CCB but not so good in the wide zones.
