PL charge City for alleged breaches of financial rules

It was like one of those US president 'hard hitting' interviews where all the questions are preprepared and vetted in advance (masters probably wrote them) - just a PR exercise really.

Masters has the air of a small town estate agent.
The small town Estate Agents I am dealing with at the moment are, polite efficient honest and trustworthy, I very much doubt Masters is any of those.

“Our job is to make the redshirts successful.”
His predecessor stated on public record that......

"The Premier League needs a successful Ma........ Yewnytid"

Later in the process of recruiting Scudamore's replacement, job offers were made to at least 2 applicants both of which were declined, whilst another applicant withdrew their interest.

The eventual recruitee resigned her role after less than 90 days in post.

All of this being prior to Puppet Masters appointment, making him fourth choice....at best.

The rags & dippers were then afforded the opportunity to separately interview Puppet Masters prior to his eventual appointment and were also granted the veto on his appointment.

Interesting eh, in the light of what has subsequently happened.

Good Lord. Narrative changing, perhaps .......?
Perhaps… or maybe a club that is just outside Manchester is going to struggle with PSR requirements again , and their spurious covid and part-takeover allowances of last year, can’t be repeated this year, leaving them no choice but to get psr rules binned.

Imagine united without those allowances - they would have point deductions… if applied this year, they’d be in the relegation places already.

Those allowances are the real financial corruption in the PL, and yet you don’t get every United puff piece in the media prefaced with ‘dodgy allowances’…

Good of Masters to agree to do a TV interview with Jack Sullivan, a board member of a PL club. Maybe one of ours could interview him next time?
Why can’t the **** hosting it open his fucking eyes!!

What a load of shite that was, and I found it interesting that the Sky sports boardroom is also the PL boardroom unless I misunderstood.

Yes, I think we are all a little over-sensitive at the moment. There was nothing wrong with the "what the fuck were the PL doing if they couldn't prove the allegations" comment (paraphrasing). This will be exactly the right question to be asked.
No surprise we are being “over sensitive “ considering the media rhetoric & the club not seeming to challenge any of it..
So every man and his dog calling us cheats because of what they read or hear..
plus the fact it’s dragging on and on !
Anyway Happy new year :)

Possibly. It at least needs to be transparent. The PL shoots itself in the foot with all this secrecy.

I didn't say it wasn't natural and understandable, just that it's easy to get carried away when we are all fuming about the constant battering. I was probably guilty of it just recently with the RPT stuff. Or not .....

:)

Anyway, happy new year to you and yours too

@halfcenturyup guilty of talking pish? Not even pannick could get you off that one ;)

As Stefan says, yes it would. Unless the PL has evidence that we're not aware of, the related party question is potentially the only chink in our armour as far as the AD sponsorships are concerned. But it's a very, very small one.

And for the cynic in me, it's yet more corroboration that this isn't about the PL acting independently of its shareholders, nobly trying to ensure there is a level financial playing field in accordance with its rules and regulations. It's about our competitors trying to nail us in any small way they can.
This, they’ve probably targeted the Aabar and Etisalat deals, where Sheikh Mansour could be considered a related party.

Obviously the question is, who allowed utd`s £40 million allowance for a share sale, were they authorized to do so, is it in the rules or was it, who else has had this allowance, and why did the Clubs not vote on it`s incorporation into the rules. I know SB was querying it on talksport a few weeks ago but it seems nothing else has been said.
