We probably won’t see him again until the Leyton Orient game (assuming he’s still here) which would be a shame.

This is such a shit take. The guy came on with five minutes to spare; much of our senior players have spurned several chances like that this season.

If that is what makes or breaks him, then he was doomed from the start.
At least it delighted the serial teat suckers who see it as vindication of Pep’s disdain for McAtee. Probably worth a goal to them in feel-good factor.

It was clear that we were able to pen them back in their own third and shithouse our way to the win but James naively went for glory.
This started a chain of events that led to their equaliser and so much panic that we nearly actually lost all 3 points.
Of course other players fucked up too but they didn't need to be put in that position.
Started a chain of events???
The ball went out of play.
They had a goalkick from it.
There were several players at fault
Savinho might have stopped the cross, Akanji could have won the header, Ortega could have got a stronger hand to it.

The next time you see a player free around the penalty spot with the goal in front of him spins away and run to the corner flag to waste time give me a shout.
Even stoke city or expensive stoke city that is arsenal won’t don’t it.
It’s pure cowardice

I think you’re correct, but I also think @Deepest Blue has a very valid point

We were completely shit housing our way to a win & as soon as McAtee missed, I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who thought, oh fuck, they’ve got the ball back, here comes the equaliser

It was poor game management in my opinion, followed by Savinho, Akanji & possibly Ortega all being slightly at fault

Hopefully they’ll all learn from it

And I'm sad it wasn't just me who realized we can't seem to win a header in their box or ours lately.

Why can’t we head the ball to one of our players?? We must be in the low half of the table for doing that. Opposition seem to be able to do it at will, but not us…

Loan but if we decide to sell get a buy back clause to avoid another Palmer.
Buy backs have done us no favours so far and every one we include costs us a bit on immediate transfer fees. The big problem with them is, firstly the player will have to want to come back here. Once they've tasted regular football elsewhere and presumably done well enough for us to be interested in a return, they're not likely to want to return unless they're getting the same kind of status as a regular starter that they had elsewhere. there's also the fact that other teams, better than whoever we sell to, might be interested and maybe they can offer that starting position and a step up which makes them a more attractive proposition.

I think we are probably better off taking the extra 10-20% or whatever it is we can get for the players we sell without a buyback included and we'll make more money that way to cover the one instance where the player sees a rapid rise to elite level and would fit in with us and we have to buy them for the going rate for such a player.
