I am of the view that they are being aided, one way or another. They have a colossal debt hanging over them, an absolute mind-bending amount, but they have had that for years and years, since at least when the Glazers turned up.
But they have still managed to outspend most other Premier league clubs.
In our world, if someone has a lot of debt and they default on it, they'll find it extremely difficult to get a clear credit rating, so hire purchase and things of that nature will be forbidden to them. But the brain-scrambling amount of debt they have accrued in such a relatively short period of time seems not to have hindered them in any way.
Personally I think both the Premier league and PGMOL have a lot of questions that need answering.
