As I understand it. Ukraine cannot fire missiles into russia that they purchased/given by another country. This is because the US forbid it and some of most missiles carry US parts.
If so, Trump could ban the supply of any weapons containing US parts being supplied no matter where used.
Further him and musk controls most intelligence satalites so they withdraw all intelligence gathered by them.
Trump could even remove sanctions from Russia, buy their gas/oil/grain just to force Ukraine to do what he says.

I just worry this mad idiot would assist Russia to force Ukraine into a ceasefire on his terms

I think it’s a reflex response based on decades of Europe letting the US take the lead. Europe can defend itself, it just requires a different mindset.

You also have to question the value or worth of any US ‘backstop’. The Iran deal was broken unilaterally by the US. They have trade agreements with Canada and Mexico yet slapped on tariffs at a whim. What value a country’s word or agreement when it means so little to them to honour it?

True. As others have said in this thread, I never thought I’d see the day where we couldn’t rely on the US in terms of defence.

Trump calls Zelenskyy a 'dictator'​

Donald Trump has called Volodymyr Zelenskyy a "dictator" in a scathing post on Truth Social.

The US president said his Ukrainian counterpart had done a "terrible job" and that he "better move fast or he is not going to have a country left".

"I love Ukraine, but Zelenskyy has done a terrible job, his Country is shattered, and MILLIONS have unnecessarily died – And so it continues..." he posted.
 
Trump also claiming that Zelensky cant account for half the money the US have sent them as it is "missing"

It was succinctly put on the news at lunchtime that Trump is'nt interested in a just ceasefire, he simply wants a ceasefire

would make sense why he's got such a hard on to tariff Canada. Fuck them off and buy his stuff from Russia. Would be an absolutely mental decision but also wouldnt be of any surprise.
