United are fucked! :-)

A Manchester United supporters' group says fans must not "pay the price" for the club's financial "mismanagement" after the Red Devils announced revenues decreased by 12% in the last financial quarter.

The club announced on Wednesday that revenues had dropped to £198.7m for the final three months of 2024, down from £225.8m for the same period 12 months previously.

Overall, the club made an operating profit of £3.1m - down from £27.5m over the same period in 2023 - after spending £14.5m on the sackings of Erik ten Hag and his coaching staff, including the £4.1m cost of hiring and then dismissing former sporting director Dan Ashworth within five months.

The announcement comes against a backdrop of the club making over 200 redundancies and raising matchday ticket prices to £66 per game, with no concessions for children or pensioners.

Just a shame about the complete farce of them not failing PSR due to an outrageous covid claim that to no surprise the PL let through/ Would have been fun to see them rightly docked points to put them in a relegation fight

I am fucking loving this. Hated Utd as long as I've loved City. Growing up I never imagined we would be where we are. But to have those scummy bastards being so shit both on and off the pitch is as enjoyable as our successes to me. I wouldn't change a single day of it. From Roots Hall, Bootham Crescent and Gresty Road to the Bernabeu tonight. Fucking have it!!!

Doesn't make any sense does it.

They're making hundreds of low paid staff redundant not to mention implementing a whole load of other ridiculous penny pinching measures.. yet apparently they're in a position to spend hundreds of millions on a new stadium.
It makes perfect sense, this is what wealthy owners do

Heavily subsidised by the British taxpayer.... or up until money is having to be found for our defence services. You never know there may be a serious rethink given what's developing in Ukraine and Europe?

They're over a billion in debt according to their accounts. That £520m is just the secured borrowing, which is the loans taken out by the Glazers to finance the purchase of the club.

On top of that there's an overdraft standing at £215m at the end of December (and probably higher currently) and they owed £477m to creditors, much of which will be transfer debt.

I make that over £1.2bn of debt.
Lads! Lads! If any of the rest of you are also in the over-50’s club and noticing that your - ahem, “morning specials” - aren’t as, shall we say ‘impressive’ as they were in your 20’s, just read this quoted post a few times and hey presto! It’s like being a teenager again.

Literally tumescent when I read that. Thank you, PB.

Thanks for giving me a good laugh. Fuck knows I needed it watching this pile of shite.

We need to think about defending our country and that starts by helping Ukraine. Forget its the rags for a moment. Old Trafford, the area, does not need the money they are talking about. Spend that money on Ukraine, they are our first line of defence.

And let the swamp fall down as a bonus.

£14.5m in contract severence paid by Utd this season. £10m to pay up Ten Hag and his backroom staff's contracts and £4m to pay up the director football's contract. The latter figure is in addition to the £3m the club paid Newcastle as compensation. The guy last 190 days at Utd.

some good news tonight

Funny how Sky don't chase after other club owners asking if they are "selling up"...

Plenty of other clubs in the league that are falling short of expectations but their owners are left alone and rightly so, Sky mad to push the narrative and get The Glazers gone to "try" and get the Rags successful again.

Close. No cigar though my friend.

They owe £400 million on players but, you forget the Kaveh Solhekol rule of rag finance, the players are effectively worth £200 million.

So it’s only half as bad, another corner almost turned.
If we are going down the kaveh route we are both way off. In his mind utd are getting 400 million worth of debt for 800 million worth of players

Point taken but those players aren't exactly liquid assets (apart from Rashford, who consumes rather too much liquid allegedly).

If all their creditors demanded payment tomorrow (and wouldn't that be fun) I doubt they'd realise the balance sheet value of those players.

So yes, the £95m cash could legitimately be offset, although that was just their cash holding at a point in time and they could have used that on Jan 2nd).
Haha! He should be forced to pay double because he “ invested” in Spurs!! Call it a stupid tax!!
