Big claim, that.I haven’t seen a beautiful hotel built this century in the UK. It might look better when finished, so prepared to wait before slagging it off.

Big claim that too.As wee all know, what's important are the hotel rooms and the service. If you can get those right, most people don't care what a branded hotel looks like.
:)Did HH Sheikh Mansour and the family not consult you....how very remiss of them.
Moaning,complaining fucker !!
Are we allowed to say it looks incredibly uninspiring?
You are not! ;)
Or suffer the consequences!
Yea think the hotel looks shite tbh
Oh dear...
Love it !! :)I think if we all chipped in a few quid to get @gordondaviesmoustache on the case, I’m sure he could secure changes to get the new hotel looking like the Parthenon.
They won't care mate as it will be full 4/5 nights a weekIt’ll be interesting to see the occupancy rate during the week days on non match days
Let's me honest mate, the vast majority of people don't turn up at a Premier Inn or a TravelBig claim that too.
There are people that Do care.

Have you forgotten about the Arena ?It’ll be interesting to see the occupancy rate during the week days on non match days
Have you forgotten about the Arena ?
TBH I'm not a fan of the hotel.
But I won't dwell on it again.(and again, and again......)
The hotel isn't going to change now. We have to accept that. We're best moving on from the hotel subject and instead concentrate on all the positives the stand and hotel will bring to the fans and the club.
It's been a really good week construction wise on the stand.
I'm going down on Sunday to take some pictures.
I'm not sure that equates to people not caring.Let's me honest mate, the vast majority of people don't turn up at a Premier Inn or a Travel
Lodge looking at the building/architecture, and think that looks like a pile of 70', 80's or 90 crap, so I'm not staying there. Most people know what they are going to get from a Premier Inn and a Travel lodge, so are happy to stay there regardless of what the building looks like.
I recently stayed at the Wolverhampton Premier Inn.

The service was good, The room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. The building looked crap.
I'm sure you'll agree with me, the Medlock hotel rooms and service will be 1st class.
The thing is. There have been plenty of people that have said they don't like the hotel. Or that they think it looks crap. Or anything inbetween.
This has been countered by - moaning fuckers, what do you expect, hotels are shite anyway, as long as the bed is comfortable who cares, etc etc.
But nobody, not one fucking person, not once in 1647 pages and counting, has actually said they actually LIKE the hotel. Not once that I have seen.
Somewhat telling.

I have always been open to that fwiw. And to waiting to see more of it being built or the mock-up at least. To be fair, most people (such as myself) don’t have the experience/insight to truly assess the building from the planning apps and visual mock ups.
I will need to wait until I actually see the finished article before I’m able to give an opinion of whether I like it.
Also, to my untrained eye, I reckon there’s a decent chance I will like it.
I did as well. :-)
Stop swearing. :-(
It's not like you.
It is what it is now.
Let's move on from how it looks externally.
It will probably look superb inside.
I'll definitely book a room. But not on a match day, or on a Coop Live Arena night.
I'll be down there around 9am jrb you could send me an email at ssskies01@gmail.com and could contact you. I have a busy day Sunday!!I might see you on Sunday? I'm off into town as well to take some construction pictures, so I'll be at the Etihad early morning.
Ahh, not what I was thinking. Interesting thought, really don't know the answer to that one though.I don’t mean removing a chunk - I’m talking about removing it completely.
The north stand roof will be held up by the two big new quad pods independently of the cable net.
Why can’t the existing 8 spirals be used in the same way so that there are additional new wires attached that hold the east and west roofs up independently of the other stands…
