If that was correct no innocent people would ever be convicted of crimes and no people who actually did the crime would ever escape punishment after being charged.

It doesn't really matter if the club is honest in their opinion of no wrongdoing (or the other way around). What matters is what the 3 individuals in this panel believes and how they choose to interpret the so called "evidence".
If I was on trial for a murder I sure as hell wouldn't be certain of getting a "non guilty" verdict just because I know I'm innocent. One would have to have enormous belief in that the justice system is infallible to not even worry about it or be certain of any outcome.

But you would be innocent, until judged by your peers, one way or the other after evidence is discussed and a decision made by the jury. But... Our club is already deemed to be guilty by the Forth Estate without any trial, and they are trashing our reputation and discrediting our achievements on a daily basis.
